Hello! So -- I have a concern regarding the morning after pill and its side effects. My fiance and I had sex on the 7th of this month (which was 5 days after the ending of my last period). I took the morning after pill the next morning (on the 8th) and started to notice some bleeding two days later (on the 10th). Now, the bleeding started off really very light, where it was only showing up as random spots on the liners that I was wearing. I read around and found out that it was normal and that it usually lasts for 5 days. So, I overlooked it.
HOWEVER, it is now the seventh day and while I am not bleeding, I am spotting brown discharge. And, even then, it is not coming out onto the liner; I only know that I have discharge because it only shows up when I wipe. I'm growing concerned because it's been an entire week since it started and I'm worried that it is not going to stop. I just wanted to know: how long does discharge usually last after taking the morning after pill? Is a week 'normal' and can I expect it to stop, soon?

Your encounter was on cycle day 10, inside the fertile window, so it was a good move to take EC. Taken in the first half of the cycle EC promotes a withdrawal bleed quite soon. This you have experienced. The next menstruation might not be for another month and you will ovulate in the meantime, so be careful! The brown discharge is old blood/uterine lining that has to get out. Your body will determine how fast that happens. I don;t think you have any cause for concern.
