My son takes a pacifier to sleep and lately he has been waking up during the night for me to put it back in. Sometimes this can happen 6 or 7 times..he goes right back to sleep but it's still not fun getting up to give it back to him. Anyone else have this isssue and what have you done to make it better if anything?

We do this also. BUT, we dont put Amaya to bed with it, she goes to sleep without it, but about 4:30 she will start grunting (this is her trying to break free of the swaddling) and I go put it in her mouth and she will sleep until about 9am. She is sleeping 9-9 now. Just try puting him to bed without it and then once he wakes up try it then.

We do the opposite to Stephanie. Put her to sleep with it in her mouth, and she loses it when she drifts off. But instead of waking up, she can now soothe herself back to sleep. Maybe try rubbing his tummy gently to soothe him, or a musical toy? 6 or 7 times a night would drive me nuts!

I would take it away tonight and he will cry for a couple days before he forgets about it. In the long run, this will be easier than getting up 6 times a night. My son has a special blanket (very soft chenille) from Koala Baby (Babies R Us). He likes to use that to be soothed, and he cant lose it in the night. I recommend trying this. He loves to nuzzle his face against the softness. His eyes roll in the back of his head when he does this. It is so cute.

Be aware that when children wake up in the middle of the night around this age it may be because he is in a growth spurt!! He could be hungry and it is also okay to let him cry a little and see if he goes back to sleep on his own after about 10min.
