Then "not CMJ" you may be disheartended to know that Formaldehyde is all around us....in fact that crib you may have bought or the cabinets in your kitchen or even even textiles and insulation. It can be harmful depending on quant_ty but the one in the vaccines is a drop in the formaldehyde bucket. Stopping your child from receiving a vaccine because of it is short sighted, unless of course you have taken all the other steps to clean up your indoor air and always steer clear from tobacco smokers etc. Yup formaldehyde is bad, it's everywhere, but it's not anywhere near as bad as say....pneumococcal meningitis.

Okay....Hard research shows otherwise. Please provide some statistically significant data to show that vaccines containing formaldehyde are dangerous to the body. FDA website states: "Tragic consequences have followed the use of multi-dose vials that did not contain a preservative and have served as the impetus for this requirement." ------- I have no problem with the argument that one should limit exposures to toxins bc I believe that an overexposure to them combined with genetics is the culprit of cancer and tumors. If you choose that route, one can't blame you. It's hard to pinpoint what is and is not okay these days.

Sorry to b___t in but i just have a quick question since u guys are on the topic of vaccines. are you guys going to give ur baby the flu shot, like i read that babies should get it and my daughter has her 9mo appt later this month and i was going to tell them to give it to her, but im not sure. Like does it really help? I have never gotten the flu shot so I really dont know if its even worth it. My friend just had her baby given the flu shot and she got sick right after.....

Check your personal supplies, too. Some of them could contain formaldehyde....

Last thing...Nobody hates that c___p more than me. I used to make it from scratch:) It burns mucosal membranes and the powder, paraformaldehyde, which goes into a buffer scared the daylight out of me.

Soleil, I do not plan to give my baby the influenza vaccine. It is common to develop mild flu-like symptoms following an exposure to the influenza antigen. I felt fluish after mine, and was very sick while pregnant. It probably was not the flu, but was a violent viral infection. Still, I don't think Aja needs it. He is not in daycare, and is not at high risk of contracting the disease. Also, he is not immunocompromised. Still, I need to mull it over some more.

soleil we won't be doing the infuelnza shot either. There was only a solitary study to support this infant influenza vaccination. I've even looked at CDC's own research and this particular vaccine has not yet been proven effective in combating your average yearly flu strain. In fact the CDC wrote that their own study showed that the vaccine made no difference in combating flu-like symptoms but yet put a positive spin on it that it's better to do it anyway because of influenza A blah blah....

Narcissus, exactly what crack scientists do. "Oh, I'm not putting THAT poison in MY body".....meanwhile that poison is all over their body. And mercury?! I bet quite a few people are probably eating some contaminated blue crabs in that all you can eat buffet! Sad, but it happens!

I figure I can handle vaccines now. I got the typhoid injection. It hurt! I have been exposed to so much paraform/formaldehyde, I can't do much but wait and see what happens:) Hey, I tried to be careful around the 100 gallon batch I have made, over time. I will let you all know if I am going to croak or develop any other mental illnesses (other than the ones I already have). Then, when I get sick, you can tell the world that it is absolutely dangerous and nobody should ever be exposed to it bc you knew someone who had a bad reaction. :P :P :P

They are around, but I am not injecting them into my body. I know that vaccines do not contain mercury anymore but injecting them into the body proved to be short sighted because adequate research had not been done. I do not feel adequate research has been done on the effects of injecting formaldehyde eiter. I think for those who make be just reading these posts they should know that not all vaccines contain formaldehyde. I believe to be shortsighted to have the vaccines that do contain it, becasue not even the "experts", not unlike thermerisol, can tell me if it safe. I am saying from a common sense perspective I would be hesitant to go forward with such vaccinations. You know that I would hard pressed to find any data containing that info and you also know the reasons. So let's not play that game. Who now is being a little less than truthful or at least bending things to get their point across. Especially after your second post about how it scares you, but it doesn't scare you to have it injected into your child? Just doesn't make "common sense" to me.

I (now) try to limit our exposures so that the inclusion of formaldehyde, or other preservatives are used on an "as needed" basis to include the important things in life, like vaccines. There is no game being played when I ask you to back your hesitation with some data.

If your personal products have formaldehyde or other nasty preservatives in them, they enter your bloodstream through the skin. Don't think that is not the case. I use a medication which enters through my skin and is released in my bloodstream over a few days. You probably have been exposed more than you would like to know. Buy Aveda:)
