There was a sign on my son's bulletin board at school that he was exposed to lice. I am supposed to treat him like he has it? I am a nervous wreck! This is all I need!

you can get a heavy conditioner at walmart called cholesterol (sp) leave it in his hair at least an hour as long as over night and wash it out do this for 2 nights the lice cant stick to it you may also want to comb through it with a fine tooth comb, for extra protection stick any cloths, pillows, blankets, toys ect in a plastic bag (tied shut, romove as much air as possible) place it in a dark corner/closet for a week and wash it anything that was on his stuff should be gone

I think the sign was just to inform you that it's going around. My son brings a note home every once in a while. You should check him though just to be safe. If you are not sure ask the school nurse or bring him to the doctor to be checked.

He is only 3 and he has a cla__s of 10. It was only on the bulletin board of his cla__sroom so I am a__suming it was a kid in his cla__s. I did check his head but didn't see anything. Aren't they hard to see?

They are very hard to see. He is too young for you to treat with the shampoos. You could take him to either the doctor or a hairstylist and explain the situation and have them look for them.

This is what to look for: little clear blobs that look like hairspray but are hard to remove. Those are the eggs. They're usually close to the scalp. The other obvious sign of lice is red bumps on the back of the ears and neck, where the lice have been feeding.

Thanks I just spoke to his teacher and she said it was child in another cla__s but same cla__sroom and he was exposed last week and there hasn't been any other cases. Thank God! He didn't got to school last week due to the holiday break I we had to got out of town. I'm glad he wasn't there. I will probably still continue to check just in case.
