Last baby I had was 1.5 years ago and when we were in the hospital the staff told me unnecessary to use alcohol to clean the cord stump but i would prefer to do this just as a precaution. Is there any reason I shouldn't?

my doc told me to and i never experienced any problems. Sounds kinda silly to me not to, it helps avoid infection.
