When he starts drinking from a cup, offer sips. They don't need extra water when they are young.

You can give you baby water at any age. Most doctor suggest giving infants water to "flush" all of the sugars from their mouths. I was giving my children water at a few weeks old.

every infant nutrionalist i've ever met has said that water is not at all nessisary in the first year. you mix the fomula......with WATER, so there is no need for extra. and filling a hungry baby up with water can really throw off their little systems. they are full, but they get nothing out of it nutritionally.

I agree with Maleficent. When babies are little their tummies are too, so b___st milk or formula is the only thing they need. Water would just fill them up with absolutely nothing. It depends on your babies age and weight. Always talk to your doctor to make sure.
