Hi! Just wondering how baby Anna was doing? Once again, I find myself curious as to her growth and development, because as always, I like to compare progress! Gabriel is getting much bigger, I'm guessing 8lbs now. Will know for sure at Dr. appointment next week! He seems extra hungry lately, and I was wondering if you've considered giving Anna pablum yet? Being the same age and all, I was hoping that it wouldn't be of any harm! I think I read on a post somewhere that Anna is 12 lbs now? She must be doing great! Give me an update when you get a chance!.. (I'd love to hear about other babies that are about 8 weeks of age too! - anyone can reply!)

Hi Chelsey, Gabriel will be growing by leaps and bounds in the next few weeks! Is he sleeping OK? Anna is constantly hungry too, eating every 3 hours in the day. She was 11lbs and 4 oz a couple of weeks ago, but I'm guessing now she's close to 13 maybe even 14 since we have to use size 2 diapers on her. Size 1 leave marks on her now. Will ask the doc about pablum, but I think you are supposed to start it after 3 months and beyond. Fortunately my wife has lots of milk now, and we found that eating beef increases the production A LOT (hormones? I hope not since dairy cows are different!). She gets a feeding of formula every night and likes enfamil's taste better than similac but we think it causes her constipation (erratic bowel movements).... maybe the iron, but I doubt it. Anna also is interacting with people and toys..... has Gabriel started giggling yet? On the minus side, she gets very moody in the late evening time and only I can calm her down till her bath. You can see her 7 week old picture at http://bbkbbk.piczo.com

hi bbk, your daughter is so beautiful. Hopefully one of these days I will have time and post a picture of Caleb. He went to the doctors yesterday and he is 12 lbs. I think he might be ready for size diapers because every night I have to change his pjs because he has leaked thru. Unfortunatly someone gave us a huge box of 220 diapers in size 1...

Thank you monica, I hope to see a picture of Caleb soon.... I'll hold you to it! He is a good size boy! 220 size 1? I think we used about 150 of them....We got those "baby dry" pampers and they are not nearly as good as the "swaddlers", but we also got a big gift pack. Is Caleb giggling yet? Anna started about 10 days ago, first small smiles and now big giggles.... when she's in a good mood that is ..... ususally morning :-)

Hi BBK! Gabriel is growing very quickly, considering his size at birth! He sleeps awesome! Usually only gets up once or twice during the night! He is awake during the day lots now, sometimes doesn't nap between feedings! Well, I guess last night was an exception, he has a cold, and was up every hour. He'd eat 2 oz., fall asleep when I was burping him, then wake up an hour later for 2 more oz, ..etc. And major diarreah, but that could be from the Tempra I gave him. Now he's been sleeping for almost 4 hours, so last night must have caught up with him! Poor little guy had his circ_mcision on Tuesday, and that left him quite upset, and uncomfortable! Healing nicely though, so should be back to normal soon, providing his cold doesn't last too long! Has Anna been sick yet? If so, what have you done to make it easier on her? I cant believe Anna is in size 2 diapers! Gabriel is still in Newborns! He should be out of them soon, I'm guessing! The reason I was asking about pablum, is because he doesn't seem to fill up on formula. He drinks Similac, the only one he likes, and still seems to spit up lots even when burped enough. I know "back in the day", there were no guidelines to follow regarding pablum. For instance my Mom started me and my brother at just a few weeks old! Maybe thats why I was such a porker when I was a baby? Gabriel like his musical piano in his crib, with lights, and could stare at his big sister for hours! No giggling yet, but thats not too far away! He has big smiles, and cute looks of surprises when talked to. Loves his Daddy's voice! Gabriel's a very good baby, still doesn't cry much, if at all, basically grunts and whines when he wants something! He loves his bathtime, but hates being naked otherwise! Who knew a baby boy, when lying on the floor with no diaper, could pee and almost hit the ceiling? Amazes me everytime it happens! I saw Anna's new picture, gosh is she ever cute. She looks very content. Must not have been bed time? I cant believe how long she is! Killer legs! I'll have to update pictures of the kids soon, and show you all how big my sweet boy is getting! Ta ta for now!

I will have to look into those "swaddlers" diapers. Caleb is not giggling yet, he smiles when I tickle him or smile at him. i am curious to know, what is pablum?

monica - pablum is rice cereal.. or oats or wheat etc. Just a fancy name I guess! How old is Caleb?

Thank you too Kathryn and Chelsey for your compliments on Anna. I'll tell her :-) Chelsey, porker LOL! Anna hasn't been sick yet (thank God). Going for her shots on 9/17 and I'm a bit nervous about it. I hope little Gabriel feels better soon! Anna tolerates similac better (no consipation) but likes the taste of enfamil (they both taste like c___p to me). Monica, pablum is a fortified infant cereal; originally it was developed for sick children...it was sold by Heinz as "The Original Infant Cereal", but I'm not sure these days. Anyway, I think in Canada they use the term like we say "kleenex" for tissues here in the States.

caleb is 6 weeks old and his doctor has perscribed cereal for his reflux problem. You be in shocked but my mom actually spoon fed cereal to my first son at two month. He is really slim now so I dont think it made him gain any weight.

BBK - your little girl's beautiful!!

Thank you CEM! 17lbs ..... wow! Any pics? Sumo wrestler is right because of the diaper (LOL!) It must be a workout to carry him! Chelsey I talked to Anna's doc yesterday and he said if your baby is throwing up formula when burped, try a different burping method, (i.e. sitting method if you're doing the over the shoulder), and rub the back instead of patting it. You may be doing this already, but I wasn't sure . As for the cereal, he said no need for Anna yet since she's gaining weight as she should be. Must be great for Gabriel to have a big sister! We hope to get another baby on the way soon too ;-). Let us know when you update your pictures!

Nervous about Anna's immunizations? Gabriel has his on the 15th, next week! Aahhh! With my daughter, my husband always took her to them, not this time! So I'm a bit nervous too! Do you get the Menningitis shot for Anna? I think that Gabriel is getting his. He is feeling much better already, tough little guy beat the c___p out of the cold, instead of letting the cold beat the c___p out of him! I agree BBK, Similac and Enfamil taste like c___p! They stink like rotten too! My Dr. told me that the reason why Gabriel may be spitting up all the time is because that little flappy thing on the esophagus (medical term?), isn't quit developed yet, and when pressure is applied to their tummy, by burping or whatever, it can cause them to throw up. Doesn't matter how often or what position I burp him in, usually he has a "treat" for me! It gets better, almost everyday, so I'm not too concerned. Gabe is really lucky to have a big sister, and I recommend more than one child to anyone that asks! But I'm at that stage right now where I dont recommend anymore than two! I've got my hands full! Hailey started preschool yesterday! I cant believe she'll be 4 in December! Aaahhh!!! CEM- 17 lbs! Hailey weighed that at a year old! What a chubby-kins! I cant believe it! 10 weeks! Holy smokes! More cheeks for the pinching! How are things up in the land of the ice and snow? (kidding!) Winter arriving soon? I'm pretty sure its on its way here! There will definately be snow on the ground for Halloween this year! Think I'll be moving.... maybe to Mexico?

BBK - i have no idea as to how to set up a piczo account. do you need a digital camera? i would like to get some pictures of me and my family up and running but have no idea how.....you and your wife want another baby already? wow, you're brave!!!! i know, i know, they're addictive, aren't they? chelsey - i thought winter was on its way for sure, but this week has been really hot, at least 25 degress every day! so it's quite up and down. that's what happens when you're surrounded by water i guess...yes, my baby is a little chubby-kins, i've always wanted a fatso but never had any luck in that department. my first 2 are and were skinny minnies, so i'm soooo happy! i mean, they're tall like their daddy, but thin like him too. he could afford to put on another 50 lbs. and still not look fat! (he's 6'9", and only 240 lbs. ONLY!! - but for someone his height he could be 300 lbs. and not be overweight).

CEM, you don't necessarily need a digital camera, but it makes things easier.... if you don't have one you'll have to scan your photos in, so you'll need a scanner. Setting up the account at piczo is relatively easy, but gettting the page up and modified is slow....not hard though
