my dr. told me to give my daughter prune juice if she gets constipated but it doesnt work if i give it to my daughter all the time. i dont really like the other ideas the dr. had and the dr wont prescibe any laxatives for it becouse she isnt getting any tears (but im not sure i want her to have that anyway) when im not using prune juce what can i do to help her?

When my son had gone 3 days without a movement our ped recommended Glycerin Supposetories. You can get them from Walgreens or any pharmacy.

We used the same as Jenn. They work, quite quickly.

You can also try maple syrup (make sure it's pure). One tablespoon per 4-6 oz of formula or milk. We haven't had to try it but it's advice from a family friend pediatrician.

Our doctor told us to use dark karo syrup, we did try that but could not tell a difference. I honestly think warm bath helps the most.

I do the prune juice and water and Jadyn is on a laxative now but we also had luck with Milk of Magnesia. Just a teaspoon of that could do the trick but it isnt something that you can use daily which is what we needed.
