if I knew he was not in need of any thing (food, change, comfort, sleep) i would put him in his crib soon as he started up the squealing nonsense and let him have a field day in there until he got it out of his system or fell asleep. turn on some music to drown him out. i had to do this with my little nephew and i snapped him out of it completely after a few weeks of this. he's just trying to yank your string and see how wrapped around his pinky he has you. be kind to him, and hug him and give him kisses before you put him in the crib so he does not think you are mad at him. this way he will a__sociate going for quiet time in the crib after screaming with the screaming, and not because you are upset.

My daughter does the same thing! I found that sometimes it is when she wants something and doesn't know how to express it. Try placing him in a room by himself for a little while (baby monitor needed) and see if he just needs some down time. Over stimulation can do the same thing. I also whisper to my daughter to teach her about inside voices. Try quiet activities and make it a learning experience. Try taking him outside it could be that he feels caged and has to much energy!
