Just thought I'd share my excitement with everyone! Gabriel went to bed at 8:30 last night, until 8:30 this morning! His first night that he slept all of the way through! Ofcourse, I was up to check on him anyways... but I'm hoping that this means some well needed sleep for me! Saturday night he slept from 8pm to 6 am.... so I knew it wouldn't be too long before he got the idea that sleeping was good for him!

Yeah !!!!! Wow - that must feel good ! Isn't that silly though for us not to enjoy our sleep when we can ?! Matthew went to bed at 8.30pm too and woke up at 4.30am for a feeding but I got up several times in between just to check him out ! lol -

That's great for his age. It must be the moon or something because Anna slept from 9:30 till 8 am.

Chelsey - October 18

It feels great! I'm hoping that it isn't just a phase! Hailey started sleeping through the nights at 3 months... so I'm crossing my fingers! Probably is the moon...

Lissi - October 18

You lucky thing! Lets hope he continues to sleep through! I had the worst night and day ever. Of course, the problem is that when they do sleep well, you have to keep checking that they're still breathing. Lol!

Lissi - October 18

Nadya breathes so shallow and quietly sometimes, that I can't make out if she's breathing in the semi-darkness, and have to touch her to get a reaction. Of course, quite often this can result in her waking up for the next 2 hours and I wish I'd left her alone.

Lissi - I know, last night when I should have been sleeping, I was up checking on him, I even considered waking up to feed! Geez, that could've been a mistake! Sounds like Nadya is quite the fussy little girl! I hope that she isn't being too hard on you! (well, from what I read, she is!) Maybe she'll get things figured out soon! Is she getting big? Just over a month old now, right? Wow! Let me know when you've got some more pictures of her, I'd love to see how big she's getting!

lucky you....caleb is 12 weeks and still does not sleep through the night. The longest he has slept was 8-5:30 then up for a feeding and back to sleep till around 8. last night he went to sleep at 9 up for a feeding at 2:30 then he woke up again at 6. Brought him to bed with me and we slept till 7:30. Hard night my 4 year old has the stomach flu so we were up at night as well. CHELSEY how much does Gabriel eat before he is put down for the night... I think my problem is that Caleb does not eat enough during the day so he is still gets hungry at night.

Chelsey, she is an angel sometimes. We've had a couple of nights when she slept really well, but it never lasts. Just when I think I'm getting to know her and we're establishing some sort of routine, she changes! She likes to keep us on our toes. :) She is getting lovely and fat now. Really cuddly! I want to try and catch her on camera when she's smiling, but so far I haven't been quick enough. As soon as I do, I'll update my site.

Congratulations! I am waiting for the day when Lucas does the same. 2 mos old now and sleeping a little bit better. He will go to bed about 9 or 9:30 and sleep 4-5 hrs, then eat and sleep another 2-3 more, depending on when he eats before the initial bedtime he only gets up once sometimes. But I get up for work at 5:30 so I have to get him up regardless by 6:15 or so. Now I just have to get him to where he will sleep without me..... God forbid we try putting him in his crib ever, you would think we were trying to kill him or something LOL the little bugger. He's sure got my number!!

Monica I'm not sure about the food thing. I read everywhere that it makes little difference. We have found that Anna sleeps well with or without food, but we suspect heat as one of her causes to wake up. We made the bedroom cooler last night and she slept really well. Problem is I have to convice my wife since she's like a tropical plant and likes it hot. I think my daughter took after me :-)

monica - October 18

ya caleb does not like hot weather or to be hot... so he is living in the best area. When he wakes up I do think he is hungry since its usually been 6 hours or so. He has been eating around 5 oz in the middle of the night ...so I figure he must be hungry. I cant let him cry it out if he really is hungry. He is a big boy...a little over 15 lbs. How much is Anna weighing these days?

Chelsey - October 18

Monica - At 3 months, Gabriel will only eat 4 oz of formula. Doesn't matter what time of day it is. Sometimes he will want 2 more oz, an hour later. But, starting at 7pm, he gets his bath, jammies and I feed him, and almost as soon as he is done burping, he's sleeping! It seems that this past week he slept for an hour longer than the night before. I started him on rice cereal a few weeks ago, and he loved it so much that I gave him some oat cereal on Sunday. I couldn't feed it to him fast enough! He would cry between spoonfulls, and as soon as he saw it getting near his mouth, he would coo and gurggle! After his long sleep last night, Gabe was so hungry this morning! Usually he burps after every 2 oz., but this morning he drank the whole thing until it was gone! I think the temperature in the room does make a world of difference too, regarding sleep. Except Gabriel likes to be bundled and warm. So I just swaddle him, (not his arms - he hates it!) , and he has a fuzzy blanket I cover him with.... seems to enjoy sleeping that way! Sorry to hear your 4 year old has the flu! We are all just getting over a sickness here too! My almost 4 year old was up twice last night, because she was having nightmares! Something about a monster and a car trying to eat her toes....!!! Lissi- Glad to hear Nadya is getting chubby, I'm a big fan of baby fat! Gabriel has a double chin, and chunky legs! Any time now, she will figure out her schedule, and hopefully give you some time to yourself! Dont forget, it is okay to let her cry! Especially if you need a minute to have a shower or get dressed! (I read your dilema on another thread!) I know its heartbreaking to hear a baby in distress, but dont get into the habit of picking her up everytime she screams. Sometimes babies just need to hear themselves cry! Gabriel never really cried until Hailey dropped her toy on his head, now that he knows what kind of sounds come out of his mouth, he cries all the time if I'm not fast enough with a bottle, or when waking from a nap! And the lip!!!! BBK, I heard you mention Anna's boo hoo lip before, Gabriel is mastering his! His dad works so much, and rarely sees the kids anymore, so Gabriel isn't quite sure of how to react to him. When dad makes a weird noise or tries to tickle him, Gabriel gets the biggest pouty lip, and cries like he is in so much pain! It really is just the funniest thing! Rachel - sorry to hear the transition from bed to crib is hard! Uh oh! Just glad that I never brought Gabriel to bed with us! I'm a heavy sleeper, and would probably have rolled on him so many times! Gabiel loves his crib. Guess he has no choice, I dont let him sleep anywhere else in the house.... his older sister would bug him too much!

monica - October 18

btw I fed Caleb cereal from a spoon a week ago and he loved it... I could not give it to him fast enough. He usually drinks 6 oz right before he goes to sleep and then I put him in his crib either awake or half asleep and he goes to sleep....he loves to go to bed at night but also loves to wake up 6 hours later to eat....yes nightmares...another thing we all have to go through with our kids...:(

BBK ® © - October 18

Monica, 15 lbs! Wow! I guess he is hungry, but soon he'll be able to go another 2 hours. Anna is probably 15+ lbs. Funny thing is she was taller than a 7 mo old she was playing with yesterday :-) Chelsey, that's funny about the cereal and the pouty lip! LOL!

Chelsey - October 18

Some people frown upon giving cereal to babies so young... but I say if your baby can eat it from a spoon, and swallows it, not to mention likes it, then why not? My daughter was 3 months when she started cereal. I'm really just trying to follow what I did with her, with Gabriel. I had no problems with Hailey, so something about my methods were working! Maybe Gabriel can see the bags under my eyes and just figured "my mommy looks terrible, maybe I'll let her get some sleep!" could be thats why he's been sleeping better lately! Yes, nightmares, nothing worse than being in a sound sleep, and waking to shrills and screams from across the hall! Scares the bejeesus out of me!

BBK curious how many inches is Anna?
