36 1 2 Weeks Pregnant And 2cm

Okay, I went in last Friday and was told I was 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. Yesterday I had a check up and was now 2cm and still 60% effaced. The Dr. said that the baby's head was in the pelvis, but he could push it out, and I still haven't lost my mucous plug. I was wondering if labor is days or weeks away. Oh and I've been having contractions, but nothing too strong.

well i had lost my mucus plug when i was 35w and im now 37w and im 4cm and 80% effaced and also having contractions that start and stop but nothing to unbearable so i mean you can be having all this and still not go until your 40 weeks my doc says that she doesnt think that im going to make it to the new year but i hope i dont cause i dont want another 3 weeks of this but you never know you could end up going into labor tommorrow good luck

I was 4 cm and 60% effaced at my 36wk check up with my daughter... I remember thinking that it couldn't be long so I walked and all that stuff...ended up being induced. It's just really hard to tell.

labor could be days or weeks away yet, it is really different for everyone. I was 3cm and 100% effaced at my 36 week check up and I was induced at 39 weeks and was 4cm 100% effaced then, so it is possible to walk around for weeks being dialated.

With my dd I was 2cms and 90% effaced at 34 weeks. I was sure she was going to come early and even tried to helpit out by walking and having s_x but finally at 38weeks I was induced d/t high blood pressure. When they checked me prior to hooking up the pitocin I was 3cms so in 4 weeks I had only dilated 1 more cm!!!

I was in the exact same position only I think I was 35 weeks. My ds was born 1 day shy of 37 weeks. I am sure you are ready for it to be over I got super annoyed when people would tell me "oh well you are 2cm that doesn't mean anything I was 2cm for weeks or months" everyone if different you could go anytime. I was shocked when I even found out I was 1cm which I didn't stay at 1cm for long which everyone swore I would. Also I never lost my mucus plug either my water just broke early one afternoon and I just thought I leaked a little urine or something but low and behold my water just slowly leaked for the afternoon and arounf 4:30 it gushed while I was at the doctor. Good Luck you lo will be here before you know it :) Oh an by the way I had NO contractions what so ever before hand they had to start me on pitocin to make me have contractions.

I dont really have an answer but I'm about the same situation. I'm now 38w 2d, but have been 2cm dilated 50% effaced for about a week and a half. Her head is low but not low enough. I've not lost a mucous plug yet either. I dont have contractions, the most I get is some mild menstrual like crampiness. They still say I can go at anytime. I'm being induced Thursday anyway but kind of hoping it won't come to that. Just know that we could be one of the ones that lose the plug and get contractions once real labor starts and not before.
