4 Cm Amp 90 Effaced Amp Lost Mucus Plug

I'm almost 37 weeks, 4 cm dialated, 90 % effaced and I lost my mucus plug yesterday. I have had contractions off and on but nothing painful or anything. Does anyone have any idea on how long it could be before I go into labor? This is my first and I also don't know if it's normal to be 4cm/90%E and not even in active labor?

I just had my 3rd a few weeks ago. I was 4 cm/70% for about 2 weeks. I heard that it means absolutely nothing as far as when labor will start. I lost my mucous plug about a week or so before ( I ended up being induced but when I went in I was having light contractions, so I would have went soon anyways). With my first baby, I was never checked for dilation but I lost my plug less than 24 hours before he was born. I think it varies with everyone. Also, I can't help you with the contractions part, as they may be real or braxton hicks. I never experienced BH so can't help you there. Hang in there shouldn't be too long.

So glad to hear someone else has the same situation as me. I, too, am 4 cm. and about 90% effaced and have been like that for 2 1/2 weeks. Just saw my doctor he said that it doesn't mean that I'll go into labor right away but that it "wouldn't take much to put me into labor". In other words, if I start having hard contractions, my water breaks or I have any bleeding I should go in right away. I a__sume it would be similar for you. This is my second and is totally different than with the first. I wish you the best- hang in there. (oh- I'm 38 weeks).
