My wife is 50% effaced and only 32 weeks along. Dr told her that she every well may go into labor in less than 2 weeks. Anyone have any knowledge or familiarity with this?

Hi dad2be! It's really impossible to say when somebody is going to go into labor, even if they start dilating/effacing early. My sister-in-law was dilated 4 centimeters at 38 weeks and went two weeks overdue...so there's definitely no formula! But I hope this is a good sign that she'll be a litle bit early. That is every pregnant woman's dream I think! ;-) Good luck to you.

Yep, it isn't a good indication of when you will go into labor. My sister was 2cm, 70% effaced 4 weeks before her due date and ended up going 2 weeks late and being induced. It's just a start to the whoe process - hard to really say for sure what will happen.
