Anyone Went Into Labor Without Bloody Show

I have heard a lot about this bloody show and losing muscus plug. I am not sure if I lost my mucus plug yet or not. I believe I might have lost it some at a time because for about a week I had yellowish and clearish discharge, and the nurse at the hospital said this could be the mucus plug. I havent heard anything from anyone I know about a bloody show, and I dont recall hearing about this in my childbirth class. I have been having consistent contractions starting to get closer in frequency, but I havent noticed any "bloody show" at all. Should I just assume I am not in labor until this happens, or does this not happen to everyone?

Don't feel bad, I haven't had a bloody show either, but my mother-in-law has 3 kids and she only had a bloody show with 1 of them so don't worry I'm pretty sure you can still go into labor. I haven't had that or lost my mucous plug and I'm 2 days past my due date!

No, you don't have to have bloody show in order to be in labor. I read that only 10 percent of women actually have their water break prior to contractions. With my first, my water didn't break until I was fully dilated and ready to push (after 17 hours of contractions). Never saw a mucus plug either.

When I had my dd, my mucous plug came out in pieces about 4 days before my water broke. It wasn't until 4 hours before she was born (and I was 9cm dialted) that I had any bloody show. People have different experiences with the mucous plug too. Mine was like yellow jelly (but more firm), but my SIL had blood streaks in her's. It just depends. Good Luck!

This is my 4th pg - no show with any of them - only with 2nd about an hour before he was born and that was only a little too...

I think I just responded to the other question you posted :) The bloody show can mean that you have a few red streaks in the mucus or a period like show. Most of the time it only has red streaks in it and no period like show at all. Hope that helps! Good luck!
