Hi, i have been going through some labour stories and each one has either walk or take a bath in it just proir to labour? Does it just freshen you up or does it make labour easier ?

With my first, I took a bath while I was waiting to progress far enough for the hospital to keep me. It helps to relax your muscles, which helps to control the pain. Its a natural pain reliever...it worked well for me!!

Walking can help you dilate and baths just relax you. If you're really tense sometimes it slows your labor and baths can help to relax you and could possibly help your labor to progress.

Wow.. great.. will make sure i do a lot of walking.. i dont wanna be in labour for long! Does the dialation start at time of labour or does it start days before ? I noticed in some stories they seem to have dialated 2-3 days before... Thanks girls!

Some times you will dialate slowly for weeks before you go into labor, and sometimes labor starts and then you dialate. It just depends on your baby and your body. :)

With my second I sat in the tub at the hospital for 45 minutes 2 times. Each time, I came out 2cm more than when I went in and the hot water made my labor much more bearable. I delivered my daughter (9lbs 13oz) after 8 hours of labor, including only 18min. of pushing. No medication.

BATH IS AWESOME DURING LABOUR. It makes the contractions seem less harsh, and allows you to cope better---it did for me anyways.
