Having Contractions And Is Already 1 Cm Dilated

I am 31 weeks when I found out I'm having braxton hicks contractions quite frequent (3-5 in an hour) and 1 cm dilated already with the baby settling downward. I was ordered to be at bed rest until 36 weeks. Does this means I can have the baby anytime now? Is there anything I can do to help prevent from dilating anymore? Please help! So scared that I'm going to have this baby premature.

Is this your first? your baby is "engaged" or just head down? From what I have read elsewhere on net dilatino don't neccesary mean early labor. But, please drink plenty of waters and stay in bed till week 36. How they say "it is better safe than sorry". Anyway what your doc thinks?

I checked with my doctor and she ordered me to be at bed rest. I believe the baby is just settling downward. The doctor did say the baby can still change its position until you go into labor. How does water helps if you are already drinking 5-7 16 fl oz bottles a day? Should I be drinking more than that?
