I am 39wks and am 2cm dialated. My dr. stripped my membranes today to try and speed things up. I am scheduled for inducment next week, but thought it is possible to go early, especially after my procedure today. Anyone have this done or know how stripping membranes affects labor?

I am due tomorrow, the 15th. I had my membranes stripped last week as well as yesterday, so far nothing has been happening just some cramping and spotting which the doc said was normal. When I asked how long it might take if what he did was to work he said a day or two. Good luck, hopefully things happen soon!!

I've had my membranes stripped twice this pregnancy, most recently two weeks ago. I was due on the 12th. Still nothing. I think it just depends on your body and how ready you are to go. Me? Well, my induction is scheduled for Monday, 8pm.

With my first baby, I was scheduled to be induced on a Monday. Had my membranes stripped on the friday before, and went into labor on my own Sat. night the next day after membranes stripped and two days before induction. So... it can happen fast if your body is ready. I'm pregnant with my 2nd now, scheduled to be induced on Monday, membranes stripped 2 days ago, and still nothing... I'm pretty much planning on being at the hospital Monday morning: ) So you could go either way I think. Good luck!
