Hi all, I am 5 days over due now and looking at ways of naturally inducing before the doctor does, I really do not want to get the pitocin drip..
So far I have tried s_x, walking, pineapple (which I have eaten my whole pregnancy about 2 a week) raspberry tea, aromatherapy massage, which I used last night and am slowly losing my plug today and have had some menstrual like cramps. I heard castor oil and know that it causes major diarhea which I dont mind because I would sooner have my bowels empty now than a full bowel after the baby is born. Is there any other suggestions? I know most people say baby will come when she is ready, but I would rather her come without the use of pitocin because I know it greatly increases the chances of c-section which I really do not want. Oh I also eat spicy food like a mad women so thats not an option.

Black and blue cohosh can help, nipple stimulation (simulating a baby nursing by rolling the areola and the nipple which releases oxytocin, which is what pitocin simulates), and evening primrose oil caplets inserted v____ally at night before you go to bed (with a panty liner in your underwear) can help soften the cervix and the perineal tissues. Those are things my midwife suggests. Good luck!

Quick Question: Where do you get the primrose oil caplets? At any drug store?
