Any idea how to bring on labor?I was 3cm dilated and 75% effaced at 34weeks,head was engaged, and my contractions made it to 2 minutes apart at the ER, before they finally eased up a little after terbuline, and they sent me home, and am now almost 37 weeks, and dr refuses to check me, to see if Im dialted more even though Ive had strong contractions for the past 3 weeks that are between 6-15 minutes apart , menstrual like cramping all day long, and even spotted some, plus I think Ive lost my mucous plug. Any ideas on when labor may start or maybe how I can help it along? This is my 3rd but both babies before labor was inducedand I had an epidural, so Ive never really had normal labor. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

well there are loads of ways which you could try but they will only work if baby is ready to come anyway, i personally believe s_x is the best as s____n contains prostaglandins which is what is in the gel they use to induce you in hospital, i am due in 2 days and tried this this morning and have been having pains all day so my fingers are crossed, something else i find brings on contractions is nipple stimulation which you do by rolling your nipples in between your thumb and forefinger for 15 mins, make sure you don't just do the end of your nipples though as they will become sore, try and stimulate the areola also, of course their are many other things you could try such as : fresh pineapple, hot curry, raspberry leaf tea, long walk, evening primose oil, as a last resort castor oil, o would not personally try this though as it can make you quite poorly and this can not be good for baby, i am on my 4th baby and was also induced with all my others 2 because they were overdue and the last because i had signs of pre-eclampsia, so i know just how you feel, good luck to you, you may also be able to get a sweep from 38 wks

how do you use evening primrose oil?

Someone told me eggplant can help get labor going. Who knows, but it is an easy one to try. How far along are you now? It sounds like it will be soon. Good luck.

you can buy evening primose oil in the capsules, and take them orally, or you can insert one into your v____a at night before bed, it will disolve and is supposed to help soften the cervix, however i am still here, been for a long walk round a car boot today and down the park with the kids playin badminton i did look funny, due tomorrow!!!!!!
