Why does fresh pineapple make you go into labor

I'm not quite positive on this but I think it's from the citrus acids or something. Don't hold me to it though lol because I'm not sure.

my guess is that ir would be a kind of natural laxative if you eat enough of it ( same as castor oil)

I just found ... Fresh pineapple has some chemical in it that works as a prostaglandin to help ripen the cervix.

I tried it last night (37 weeks), and it didn't work. Actually, when I ate the tons of fresh pineapple, I was unaware that pineapple has been known to induce labor. I didn't go into labor regardless. ...maybe its just not time.... :(

No induction will work unless the baby is ready i have already figured that out. I have walked, had s_x, castor oil, and pineapple and nothing is working i have walked so much in the last 3 weeks that i think im going to die of walking and s_x also. The castor oil gave me really bad contractions but i didnt dialate while having them i have learned to just let you body take do its own thing your baby and mine will be here soon enough. Good luck
