Lost My Mucous Plug Question

This morning I lost my mucous plug (really gross by the way) I've been losing pieces here and there I think, but today I was getting ready to get in the shower and there was a huge glob of snot looking discharge ...there was no blood in it. I know that once you lose the plug...it could be anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks til delivery. (I am 2cm dilated). When did you lose your plug and how long did it take to have your baby? Thanks!

I am wondering the same thing. I am 2 cm dialated and 80% effaced, and I have been losing mine for a week now. It didn't have any blood until yesterday and today.

Alicia ---- Well, I've been losing small pieces for about a week now but this morning all of a sudden a huge clump of snot-like (clear-ish, maybe slightly yellowish, thick, stringy stuff) mucous. It's gross, but hey you asked! I'm 38 and 1/2 weeks by the way.

when you say "huge" do you mean like the size of a plum, grape, orange or what? I'm just asking b/c I'm only 29 weeks, and am wondering what's to come.

hi, it was only a matter of hours before i went into labour after this happened.but yeah i have read it can still take weeks.

It took me about a week after i lost my mucous plug to go into labor but I had my membranes stripped after I lost my mocous plug too so I think that cut the time back a bit shorter too. Im 27 weeks and a half weeks now and I just lot my mucous plug on the weekend hopefullyt nothing happens soon for me.

Lala...I would say mine was about the size of a golf ball. But I think I have been losing pieces of it for a week or so before I lost this huge clump. Yuck!
