Did you go into full blown nesting prior to labor? I've heard of women who clean the whole house right before labor begins. If this happened to you, how long did it happen before labor started? I'm just curious...

Mine happened about 4 days before I had my son. I didn't clean the whole house b/c it was just me and husband in our tiny apartment. I'm a clean freak, so it was already spotless. I did have the strongest feeling to make the baby bed. I was going to wait till I got my son home to put the sheets on, but I couldn't resist myself.

i started nesting probably 2 weeks before i went into labor. It stopped a week later. When i went into labor, i had NO signs i was starting labor at all. The contractions just hit hard. They started at 5 mins apart, then an hour later they were 2 mins apart and i was 5 cm dilated..8 hours later he was born. If you have started nesting, expect a baby in the next couple of weeks! YAY!

it happend to me the night before!!! i washed all the walls down in the house and vacuumed repeatedly!! i went into labor about 12 hours later!

I had very bad nesting from the second trimester all the way to the end... it didn;t get any stronger right at the end.

I think it just depends on the person. I am not a clean freak (hubby is) but I have been lately. I thought I was weird b/c everyone says it starts just before labor and I too started early. Seriously at 22 weeks I was stressing b/c the room wasn't totally finished. We are now alomst completely done with the room and I am only 28w. Now I clean up everything immeadiatly!!

LOL with my daughter i started dusting plants, washing windows and walls the day before I had her. Now I am not the type of person who is obsessed with clean rooms, so when I was pregnant with my son, and started scrubbing the floor on my hands and knees, I though something was wrong!! This time I am almost 26 weeks, and all this past weekend I spend scrubbing the bathtub, organizing the storage room, cleaning all the bedrooms, and organizing baby clothes! I even packed the diaper bag for the hospital! LOL dh didn't know what to think and kept telling me to slow down! :)

Nesting isn't really a sign of labor, some women have it really bad and others don't I am a neat freak so for about 2 weeks I have been cleaning everything in sight LOL! I am 38 weeks now.

I was nesting way before I went into actual labor. I wasn't working so all I did was clean and organize!!!
