Placenta And Cord Breaking Worried

With my ds my water broke first went to hospital where they induced me. Labour and delivery to me was painfull but I did it natural no medication nothing (son came out posterior so head down facing up) I thought the l & d was hard until I started pushing the placenta and the cord broke off and they nearly rushed me for a C-Section (matter of life or death). The doc went in as far as her elbow to scoop out the placenta and all the peices. I was told after by my doula that the doctor had been unpatient and pulled on the cord and that it could have been avoided. I'm worried for my second one. Anybody experience this?

I've never experienced that but I hope that you don't have the same doctor this time!!! Dear God that is horrible of the doctor!

Yeah, I'm with you inuk-mama...terrible doctor for a situation you say can be life or death. Use a really good hospital!!

I do work with a guy whose wife had a horrible time, and not sure if this is a similar situation or now, but he said the doctor practically had one foot up on the bed trying to pull on the umbilical cord and it tore her uterus. He said it was such a horrible experience they're seriously considering not having another child. It didn't sound right how he described it...just be sure to use the most reputable or hospitals/doctors, not that that's fool proof- but you need to be in the best care possible.
