For me, it started to get itchy from the begining of my prego months..It didnt come til I was about 4/5 months. I have had stretchmarks coming from the top of my groins area and my tummy had a nasty fire flames type of it and above my pelvis area. The itchiess area are above my pelvis area. sOo annoying! I had my baby 9 months ago..and my stretchmarks are fading away slowly..sadly, it's still itchy. coco b___ter should help. but not for me..so if its really itchy put some kind of a special lotion for stretchmarks! hope i help.

I have stretch marks and they do not itch at all, nor did that area itch before I got them. Maybe it has somethingto do with a persons skin. Maybe try a different soap...one with oatmeal in it.

yeah it probably is. mine were never itchy but i have freinds who couldn't stop scratching and theirs are way worse than mine.I don't know if it's scientifically true or not but i heard if you scratch them-they will be worse.

I use special oid to prevent stretchmarks (hopefully that will work!!) :) dry skin is a common sideeffect of pregnancy. Use lots of cocoa b___ter and oil all over your body and you should feel less itchy. good luck!

My belly has been itchy since the beginning. I think it is due to your skin stretching, not necessarily related to stretch marks or not. I keep lots of lotion on mine to give my skin as much elasticity that I can, i use vitamin E lotion and I have heard that cocoa b___ter is realy good too. Don't get too excited though, I thought I was stretchmark free, They didn't show up until my 38th week! Plus stretchmarks are hereditary, so ask your mom if she had them, it will give you better indication on what may or may not happen. I have also read that a lot of the time stretchmarks don't appear until AFTER the baby is born when the skin is no longer tight. Good luck.

Palmers makes an anti-itch oil spray. I have some at home but haven't had to use it yet....I try to remember to put it on at nigth to be preventative, but sometimes I forget. I do use the palmers cream and no stretch marks yet - I am 28 weeks.
