How are you deciding which delivery method you want with #2 if #1 was a c-section? Part of me is afraid of having a VBAC since I already know what to expect with a c-section. I also like the fact that a c-section is planned, so it would be easy in that respect. The thought of having a va___al birth is scary, but it seems that a lot of people would tell you a va___al birth is better for the baby. I also want to be able to nurse as soon as possible and I wasn't able to nurse for MANY hours after my c-section with DS. Any suggestions/input would be appreciated.

most will tell you go for the c-section again. I say v-bac. With a v-bac...honestly the pain is more intense BUT is over quicker. The next day I felt NO pain with a v____al birth...can't say that for the c-section. I was also more attentive and never had to asked the nurse to help me get the baby so I could feed him...in fact i didn't have a nurse because I was sent home after 12 hours of giving birth. But then why did you have the c-section. That is the biggest debate...of weather to have one or not.

There is a lot of support for VBAC and evidence that it is absolutely fine. I say, do as women are intended to do, birth v____ally. I had a wonderful home birth with my 2nd dd after a miserable hospital experience with first dd. In the hospital I was threatened to no end to have a C section because I was not progressing to the doc's liking. I REFUSED for 12 hours and finally she was born. Good luck!

Research has shown that unless there is a reason for an emergency c-section (eg: placental problems, fetal distress, prolapsed cord), that v____al birth is much better for both mother and baby. During the labor process hormones and chemicals flow through your & the baby's body which play a very important role especially for the baby - stimulates the baby to breathe, squeezes fluid from the lungs which in turn promotes greater and healthier lung function & signals the baby to look for the b___st. Your recovery time is less and the chances of something going wrong are lessened dramatically as you are not having MAJOR surgery. Like Skyeblue said there is a lot of support for VBAC so please do look into further. Best of luck.

My understanding is that if they performed a cla__sic cut on the uterus, not what you see on the skin (usually bikini cut) this is the MOST important reason to repeat c/s. Otherwise if you are healthy and so is baby there is no reason to have another major surgery. There are risks and recovery time is longer. Discuss it with your doctor to understand why you need another c/s.
