Maddie, not sure if you have delivered or not...but I know you're getting very close to your due date. I just wanted to say that you can do it natural! Don't let anyone discourage you and the thing you want to focus on in labor is that the sensations that you feel are not from a disease, but from a natural process...this is what kept things in prospective for me...I know you'll do great. Congratulations! Please keep us posted.

Thanks so much Toya. That's so sweet of you to offer encouragement! Like I said before, you going through it natural gives me inspiration, so thanks! =) Well...due date came and went (6-15). I am cramping pretty bad now, and starting to spot a peachy colored discharge? Also, the full moon is Wednesday and I heard this has an effect on the water in pregnant women's bodies and a LOT of babies are born on full moon nights! I'm excited. I just want to go natural and hopefully not be induced. My next appointment is actually Wednesday and I'm going to tell them YES, schedule an induction (If i don't go into labor today or tomorrow). Still want to go natural, and i'll keep what you said in my mind. Thanks =0)

You're welcome Maddie. I was reading your other threads and I know how negative some people have been towards your desire to go natural. I think attempting natural is always the best way to go if you and your baby are in great health...listen to your body...My pushing stage of labor was only 15 minutes because I listened to my body and thank God I listened to it because my baby's umbilical cord was compressed and so a quick delivery was nature's way of protecting my child. My baby's first apgar score was an 8 because she was a little blue and her second one was a 9! Many people thought I was crazy when I told them I wanted to go natural, but I did not let that deter me from having the birth experience that I wanted. It is not about them, it is about you and your baby. You seem like a very positive person and so I believe that you can do it...and once that baby is in your arms, you will be so happy you did it natural...Now, if there is any particular part of labor that you have concerns about feel free to ask, because preparation is a good way of dealing with the discomfort of labor...The only thing I can think of right now to tell you is that after you have your baby...REST! Let people help you out with house chores and anything! Do not feel as if you have to do it all...Although labor is relatively a short process, your body has used all of its energy to push out that bundle of joy! You will not feel tired right away because of all of the excitement, but in the first 2 postpartum weeks you will be tired...I wish that someone would have talked to me more about the postpartum period...the labor is the easy part. I had to have sutures in 3 different places and for the first 3 postpartum weeks they were absolutely annoying...a pain in the REAR! But now that I'm at 6 weeks postpartum, I feel like my old self again! I feel great! I thought that I would never heal, but it is amazing the way your body bounces back! I am starting to work out again. Are you planning to b___stfeed? I believe that b___stfeeding has made my life with the baby much easier because I don't have to mix anything...don't have to wash bottles...don't have to warm bottles...but regardless...do what YOU want to do...and no one else. This is one of the happiest times of your life and you deserve to have the birth experience that you desire! :)
