When Did You Start To Dialate And Efface

Well, I am almost 39 weeks and as of my 38th week I was not dialated or effaced. I was just wondering when some of you started to dialate and efface, and then how much longer after you dialated and effaced did you give birth?

Well at my 35 week appt. I was 2 1/2 cm dilated and 60% effaced, nothing changed at my 36 week appt. though.. So it could be anytime! Good Luck!!

at my 38 week appointment i was 0 cm 0% effaced also. im due this friday the 26th, and as of 2 days ago there was still nothing going on down there : [

Ashchik-Effaced is when your cervix thins. I am 39 weeks and 2 1/2 cm & 50% effaced. I started dialating at week 36. None of this means I will go into labor any sooner than those of you who aren't showing signs. Every woman's body is different. I know we all want signs, but a woman who is 3 cm dialated for 3 weeks could come after a woman who just suddenly goes into labor and isn't dialated yet at all. It's frustrating, but our bodies know what to do. Trust! Trust! : )
