Hi Ladies I went to my doctors appointment yesterday and she told me that my baby doesn't feel overly big but very long. I haven't been able to sleep for the last couple of days as he is up under my ribs and I can't move him as there is no room left. I am also having headaches, menstrual like pains, back ache and nausea. The doctor told me that at my appointment next monday they will decide if he should be left in there for another week or if they should induce me then. (I am 39 weeks 1 day at the moment.) I am a little scared of being induced and would love to hear your stories. Also the pains and stuff that I'm having, could they be a start to labour? Thanks so much. Sorry about the long post.

Stace- I have 2 boys, induced both times. my 2yr old was induced at 41wks and my 12 day old was induced at 39wks both due to large size, my first son was only 8lbs 1.1oz and my second son was 8lbs 15oz my first induction was done by having my water broke, the second was done by having a capsule inserted v____ally. with my second induction my changes of having a c-section was over 50% but I ended up having him all natural. I can relate to the pains your having, I had them the last month of my pregnancy. they could bring on labor, but I dont think they will unless they are contractions. but dont give up hope and being induced isnt that bad, at least then you know for sure what is going on! good luck and if you have any other questions you want to ask me, go ahead :)

I was induced at 37 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia, with pitocin. After 24 hours of labor, and 2 hours of pushing, I ended up with a c-section because my baby got stuck on my pelvic bone. I think that I may not have needed the C if I had gone into labor naturally, cause maybe then my hips would've spread enough for her.

I was induced with my son at 42 weeks. I had dilated enough for them to break my waters, an hour later contractions started and 3.5 hours after that he was born weighing 9lb 11oz and i did it completely drug free. Good luck

Hi Stace, I was induced at 39 weeks 5 days and I was teriffied. I had heard all kinds of horror stories about Pitocin and how the contractions are harder and quicker but in all honesty, once I got the epidural, it really didnt matter. They started the Pitocin at 6am and by 9pm, I had my daughter in my arms. I am not sure if you plan on having pain meds but if so, then dont let the horror stories about the contractions scare you because they shouldnt be an issue. Hope this helps and good luck!!!! :-)

Jodie, your story makes me feel better. I am currently 40w + 5d and have been told my baby is now 9lb 11ozs too. They are talking about inducing me in 4 more days. I am not happy about it, but great to hear you were able to do it drug free and without a 'C' section. If you can do it, so can I!
