Braxton Hicks Contractions

From about the 6th month i have felt a tightening in my stomach, i am now in my 33rd week and they are so tight and my stomach gets so hard that it is painful..i know that these are braxton hicks but i've heard that the pain starts at the top of the uterus and gradually goes down...but mine start way at the bottom of my stomach and then travel up?? im so confused? please someone give me some info ---thanks!
