Well, I am almost 39 weeks now and nothing is happening. I have walked and walked, cleaned house, and still nothing. I have not even had one contraction my whole pregnancy. At least if I have had a contraction I haven't felt it. When to the doctor last wednesday and I am still not dialated. Doctor did not say much about effacement, he said AT LEAST another week. I have been having small amounts of yellowish, slightly stringy discharge. Am I losing my mucus plug finally??? Any tips to help me go into labor besides castor oil, s_x, walking, cleaning house, the usual???

Yeah, sounds like you are loosing your plug!! You are starting to dialate then, so don't worry...you're getting there! Just remember. Your body knows when it's time to go into labor. You wouldn't want to go into labor when your body wasn't ready. It would be more difficult & painful, and often longer. Just keep walking and try some evening primrose. Otherwise, you are so close, just hang in there!! : )

Hi there. Walking won't do much unless your already in labor so save you strength. S_x does work, sperm helps soften the cervix, but make sure you orgasim so you get all that yummy oxytocin. Also you can try drinking some raspberry leaf tea www.traditionalmedicinals.com which help you gently contract. Don't worry either way it'll be over soon. Every woman (including me) gets soooo sick of being pregnant. Hang in there.

Actually I have been told quite differently. Walking a__sists in the baby dropping and the pressure that it puts on the cervix aids in all the early labor you go through in the 9th month. Walking is one of the best things you can do in your ninth month. Not miles and miles so you have no energy left, but a good 1/2-1 hour walk is excellent.
