I'll be honest, this is a hard question to answer. Even if you have started to dialate and your baby's head is engaged and your cervix is thinning out you could still go past your due date, or you could have no signs of progression and go into labor tomorrow. When i had my first 8 months ago this happened to me, i went to the doctor a little before 37 weeks and i wasn't dialated or effaced and 4 days later my water broke, everyone was so surprised, even the doctor. I know some people say first babies come late, but i'm not sure that is really true. Babies come when they are ready and hopefully your baby will be ready soon.

yeah, i was dilating for 5 weeks before my baby came and i was at 3cm and 80% for about 5 days! she came 2 days before her due date. they come when they want. I also started losing my mucus plug 2 weeks before also. So everyone is different but for your sake i hope the LO comes soon, the last little bit was hard and uncomfortable :)

I think I heard there is a 2% chance of delivering on your due date :) First babies tend to be later, but mine was a couple of days early. I was like Krissy25, with no indication of labor starting until it was time. I lost my mucous plus, and then 24 hours later, it was showtime. Water broke at 8/9 cm. So, no early indication. I think it is your baby's first declaration to the world--when he or she wants to be born. You, as a parent, can do little to change what the little one wants. It is sort of preparation for the next few decades :)

You never know, I had my DD a week before my due date (she's our first child) it's really hard to say. As for having baby on the due date I think it's a 10% chance of it happening on "the" day itself! I think it's best to be prepared for being late as often women are especially with their first child - but it's not a given. I was convinced my DD would be late and she was early :-) No signs until my waters broke one day!

Actually 10% sounds a bit high when I think about it CoLark is probably right with 2% sounds about right :-)
