oh and I have a boy (Ruhan-19months) and a girl (Chantelle-2 weeks now?)... How you coping with the two???

skylersmom - October 6

thanks :) i dont feel very cute in those pictures haha. its definitely harder than i thought taking care of 2 kids. sorry i thought you had another girl by the way. i swear i thought before you said you had a daughter. 19 months huh? i bet your having a harder time than me! do you have anyone helping you? i have absolutely no help at all. i dont have any family around here. my 3year old is good, but it just seems like whenever i sit down to nurse the baby, he needs help going on the potty, or a drink or a snack. and cayden is so demanding, he always wants to be held and its so hard to get anything done! looking at all this laundry and dishes depressed me. i just know i could get it done in 10 min. if the baby would let me haha. but all in all, i love my babies and love raising them. its all worth it. just harder than i expected. i was actually hoping for skyler to start headstart this year but they didnt have any openings, shux! how are things going for you? getting any sleep yet? cayden is a pretty good sleeper at night lately. i feel pretty lucky the last couple nights.

hey there---my hubby has really stepped up to the plate. He helps out so much...the biggest thing is he takes Chantelle for her 4:00am feeding and lets me sleep in till 9. That's 5 hours of consecutive sleep. I still get exhausted though. Around 3pm in the day I'm pooped. I too, can't wait for them to fall asleep--it feels like everything in the house is falling behind, and that drives me crazy!! The laundry has been stacking up, and frankly I think we're just about out of clothes for everyone! I live in an apartment so I can't leave the babies to go down to the laundry room--and taking them with is just not going to work. How many hours is Cayden sleeping?? I think Skyler and Cayden are such cute boy names..unique but not completely out there. (;

skylersmom - October 6

thanks for the compliment on my babies names :) i thought it would be cool to call him Sky for short, but i hardly ever call him that. cayden will sleep for about 3 housr at a time during the night. compared to the first couple nights we were home, that is really good. thats great that your husband takes over and you get 5 straight hours. getting some sleep makes a big difference in how you feel. at first, wheni wasnt getting much sleep, i cried alot. luckily the baby blues went away pretty quickly. i cried alot! thats really tough about your laundry situation. will your husband do it or watch the babies while you go do it? luckily the washer and dryer at our apt. is right outside our door in the hallway. so i can sneak out there pretty easily. i cant imagine if i had to go to the laundry mat or something.

hey skylersmom! you're so lucky about the laundry. It's funny how things that didn't matter before all of a sudden becomes this big deal when you haven't gotten any sleep. But frankly wether you get sleep or not, I think any women who had given birth have the right to cry. Not only are we hormonal, but our lives have just changed, and we're dealing with a very bruised body. How are you healing compared to Skyler? The sleep has helped so much. I have healed so much faster with her than I did with Ruhan. I'm going to belly dancing cla__ses already! 3 hours is a good stretch for such a little guy. The good news is that it'll get longer and longer. Chantelle did 4 hours last night!! I was sooo excited when I woke up and it was a whole hour later than I expected. Let me know how you're doing!? What are you finding challenging this time around? How's Skyler dealing with his little bro?

vonzo - October 12

3 and 4 hours, you guys are sooo lucky!! I thought Amber would sleep longer as i've had to move on to the bottle cause she was just too hungry for me, but noooo the little madam thinks 2am-6am is a great time to lie on mummys chest and "talk". Why does my husband have to be on nightshift so much?! I miss sleep, i love sleep, infact i wish i had had sleeps baby then maybe it would, well, erm...sleep?!? ... I'll stop rambling now, sleep deprivation has made me slightly bizarre! Anyhoo hope you ladies and your little uns are doing fantabulously. I'm loving being a mummy for the 1st time, would love it alot better if i still didn't fear having to go for a wee but i'm sure that will get better soon :o) xxx

Smilefull - October 12

she "talks"??? that's so cute! making cooing noises?? or the kind of open mouth close mouth things they do? Mine will about twice a day belt out this adorable noise (not crying!--and it makes me so happy). vonzo--I know you didn't ask for advice, so ignore it if it's not welcome!!! --my first had the same problem, slept during the day, up at night--if you give them a bath in the evening it makes them more prone to sleeping. Also, when you get up for night time feedings, try to keep things as low-key as possible. Dimmed lights, no noise--some go as far as saying no eye contact--try to keep interaction to a minimum. Soon they catch on....good luck!!

skylersmom - October 13

vonzo- you poor thing! i know how you feel. my baby hardly slept at all like the first week. then all of a sudden he got real good at sleeping at night. but the thing is, he still sleeps most of the day as well. so im thinking he sleeps too much? lol. Thats good advice smilefull. thats what i do and it seems to work. when he wakes up in the night and needs a changing, i turn on the tv which is muted, just for a little light, and change his diaper then turn it off. other than that i dont even turn it on. but we have a little light that comes in from my sons night-light. enough light, but not too much. also, i am healing very well, pretty much the same as when i had skyler. i think im very lucky. good pregnancies, good, quick births, good healing and pretty good babies :) i feel very lucky and blessed. skyler absolutely loves being a big bro. and hes very good at it. hes very helpful, brings me diapers and stuff. your doing belly dancing already? geez, i better start getting some exercise. i feel lazy compared to you lol. i actually feel alot lazier than when i was pregnant. i really think i had more energy when i was pregnant. also it seems like i eat alot more (especially chocolate). is that weird? anyone notice that or is it just me???

vonzo - October 13

thanks for the advice smileful, i do try most of that, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. It's weird but i think she senses when daddys not home. John was home last night for the first time all week and she slept LOADS! I even had to wake her up for a feed. LIttle snotter probably wanted to make me out to be a liar when i was moaning at my husband saying he had it easy at work hehehe. She does the open and close of the mouth and weird noises, we think she's trying to be a swan cause she keeps making a swan hissing noise everytime we change her nappy, its very cute! Belly dancing smileful?!?! Good on you! I don't need to go to a cla__s to do that, i just need to slap my tummy and yell "watch that flubber fly!" and it dances all on it's own :o) skylersmom-- I've found the same thing, hardly ate during my pregnancy due to sickness and being full really quickly but ever since she popped out i have been like a ravenous horse! Craved apples when pregnant, Maltesers when not pregnant, it so should have been the other way around! :o) I've been trying to dance around while im cleaning or tidying up to get a small amount of exercise in but due to still being a tad fragile down there i look more like a constipated john wayne than a smooth groover!

Smilefull - October 13

skylersmom--aww, it's so cute that he can help out like that. I think I can train mine to bring daiper, that's a really good idea by the way!---he brings the mail and puts things in the trash when I give him something and say "trash". vonzo--I know what you mean about the daddy thing! I get the sense of that too, and awww, aren't those noises just precious. Mine tells me she wants a burp--soundsl ike she's trying to clear her throat--uh uh uh uh...and on the Belly Dancing---I'm the WHALE in the cla__s! All these little skinny-malinki's, and my belly is this flabby deflated rubber thing--ah well. The instructor wants us all to wear midriff bearing tops and I was like "uhhh, no" maybe in another life time. ---and don't think I'm out EXERCISING, it's all very mild. It's more of an excuse to get out of the house. And on eating----oh my goodness---yesterday I started craving Blueberry Muffins (worst than any pregnancy craving, and strange because I don't like blueberries?!?) well...I ate 8 of them--EIGHT! Keep on truckin' ladies--hope those babes start sleeping longer hours!!

Smilefull - October 13

OMG i am so glad to hear you are finally out of your misery...i came in the previous conversations late in the game but it looks like im one of the last ones left lol. i am going on my 38th week now i believe. i am 30% effaced and 1 1/2 cm dialated... my doc says it should be any time now, but its hard to tell with this one being my second. i have been having painfull contractions off an on now and have been cleaning busy with the house and walking.... am thinking about trying s_x, which will of course make the hubby happy lol. i know a few of you were overdue but did it seem like anything worked with you to help jump start your labor? im having excruciated pelvic pain because the ligaments stretched too far and cant wait to be able to have this little girl out and in this world lol. hope to see you all in infant care soon!

Smilefull - October 18

spunky! long time, no chat!! don't worry they come out eventually--one way or another. I'm so sorry you're struggling with your ligaments being stretched...I went walking lots with my mom..and s_x w/ hubby...keep my fingers crossed for you!!
