I'm a genius! Dunno if the castor oil works (yet) as I just took it. But for those afraid of the taste: Blue Listerine Gla__s of cold soda Pre-measured cup of castor oil Hold your nose and chug the castor oil. While still holding your nose immediately rinse with Listerine. Breathe through mouth and repeat Listerine (don't let go of that nose!). Repeat Listerine until all grease is out of mouth. Take a couple swigs of soda (you can still breathe from your mouth...just not your nose) and THEN release your nose. Enjoy the rest of your soda. My worst burps taste a little like lipstick...nothing intolerable. Be sure to finish your soda...I think it helps settle your stomach so you won't puke. I'm off to have s_x and a warm bath...let's hope for the best!

CLARY-SAGE is said to work, just add a few drops to a nice warm bath, and relax for about 10-20mins, i plan on trying it myself sometime soon, but be sure not to get it mixed up with SAGE as they are completely different. EVENINIG PRIMROSE OIL is also said to be good for natural induction.Good Luck, Hope everything goes well for you.

well im due tommorrow, iv tryed everything. i think all these methods only work if your actually ready, and not before. which is unfortunate, as pregnancy get very uncomfortable last couple of weeks have been hell :o(

I know how difficult the last few weeks are ladies but honestly i would reccomrnend taking time for yourself since you wont have much after the birth. Get a good book, knit, paint, catch up on paperwork and try to take it off your mind. After I had mine I regretted how much time I wasted instead of doing something for myself. Good luck and good health ladies!

I agree that you should just wait it out. I'm 38 weeks and I want to meet my baby more than anything. I think trying all of these crazy things would make the time go by so much slower. Your mind just becomes consumed with it and it makes the time drag on longer.I have however started walking again. I had around 4-6 months stopped because it seemed to bring on contractions and I didn't want to go into labor too early. Now that he's safe, I walk 2 miles a night. Don't know if it's helping or not.

Try acupuncture it has around 90 percent success rate, generally you need 2 lots of treatment but it hasn't yet failed me.

funny I'm here, but this is my 3rd baby the 1st was a c-sec. the 2nd i was 40wks plus 4 days and i couldn't take it anymore. my neighbor is a nurse and told me take 2oz. of Castor oil and oj. well about 5 hrs later i felt sick to my stomach and noxious. then my water broke. and 8hrs later i had him. Now the funny thing is i'm 37wks and i want this baby out. i'm kind of afraid to take the castor oil now cause i never knew that it can cause an infection. Do you know anyone who has taken the castor oil and gotten an infection?

I am 40 wks and i tried the castor oil two nights ago ended up in the hospital with contractions coming every five mins. The problem was my cervix still wasn't ready(no effacement) and i only dilated to two centimeters after twelve hours. I wanted them to induce me , but they wouldn't at that point..arg! So now i play the waiting game again. Not sure if that means it worked for me or not. I would never do it again i have never spent so much time in the bathroom.

i am 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and we are trying everything... i went in to the doctor 2 days ago for my 38 week check up and my doctor stripped my membranes and last night, i took castor oil with orange juice.. i ended up having contractions about 3-5 minutes apart but got sent home from the hospital because my cervix wasnt dilating at all ... ( i was 1-2 cm and 50% effaced BEFORE i started even taking the castor oil.) i woke up today and took 2 more ounces of castor oil and some black cohosh to help regulate and make the contractions more efficient, meaning hopefully they will help dilate my cervix. i just took the castor oil about an hour ago so nothing really has happened yet, but we are hoping for the best!!!

I was due on April 17th - no baby yet! I have been walking for 1 hour everyday and feel contractions for a few hours afterward - then nothing. When I lie down, I get mild menstrual-like cramping. But - the only good sign is that my back hurts! I ate the famous eggplant parmagiana at Scalini's in Smyrna, GA last night as well! Apparently, over 300 women have been sent into labor by this dish...S_x hasn't been working...does cause a few contractions...but they don't last. I think our baby condos are just too comfortable for the baby to want to leave!

Walking has brought on stronger contractions for me but they go away. Someone just told me to drink a gla__s of wine and a piece of cheese cake?? Never heard that before but I thought I'd share. 39 weeks and 2 days...can't be too much longer?

Pineapple anyone? I just found this today... Folk Medicine: Pineapple juice is taken as a diuretic and to expedite labor... The flesh of very young (toxic) fruits is deliberately ingested (a little with honey on 3 successive mornings)... from: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/pineapple.html
