Possibly In Labor

alright, a few days ago i lost my mucus plug and from that day on the contractions that ive been having have been happening more throughout the day as opposed to only late at night and have changed location at where they hurt and have increased in pain a bit. they used to just be a real hardness at the top of my stomach, but now theyre the hardness plus a cramping on my sides in my lower belly. that and i feel a more intense pressure on my cervix, like if i sit im fine, but if i stand i can feel it setlle lower, and if i sit from standing i can feel it go up and then setlle back down lower. i am in a great deal of pain most of the time, with constant crampiness and pain in my belly(from the hardness) and when i lay down it feels like im about to start my period. also for the past day or so i have a stuffy nose(not sure if theres any relevance there) but im curious as to whats going on?? am i in labor? if so how progressed and how much longer does he haveleft?

I am having the same things only I have pain from the back to the front. I am 35 weeks. I am also wondering if it is because my boyfriend and I had s_x today for the first time in about 3 months. Long distance relationship.

well i just got back from the doctor and an u/s. and the u/s doctor recommended getting the baby out asap bc of size and to maintain a natural delivery by induction if my cervix is ready, but my cervix isnt ready so i can forsee difficulty with all this. they said they cant induce bc my cervix is still too tight so it would be a waste if they did anything to help out bc they claim it wont work if the cervix is ready. so now im stuck probably having him via c-section bc hes too big. does this sound a bit odd to anyone else?

No it doesn't sound odd at all. I pushed to be induced 2 years ago with my daughter and my cervix was not ready. I spent over 18 hours in HARD labor, and they still had to use the vacuum on her head to help me because I was sooo tired. The meds produce strong contractions, but if that cervix is not ready, you are in pain for nothing! By the way she was only 7 lbs. 11oz, and I am not a small woman. Your doctor would not choose to do a section unless he/she though it was necessary, especially now a days with malpratice insurance costs through the roof!

well as of now hes 8lb11oz, and they said he grows an ounce a day at this point at least, so if i go full term then hell be about 9.5lbs, and the measurements today put him at 89% altogether and they consider 90% to be too big, so the u/s doctor strongly recommended getting him out now but they couldnt bc of my cervix. im not completely sure how it cant be ready, i lost my plug fully about a week ago and have been having fairly strong contractions ever since, so im already in pain for a good amount of the day already.

I was induced because my blood pressure was going up and they were afraid I'd need a c-section if they waited any longer. Plus danger to me and the baby. Anyway, they gave me cervidal at midnight to soften my cervix. My water broke a little after 2 a.m.. At 8 am my doctor checked me and my cervix was now 100% effaced but still only about 2 cm.'s. They started the pitocin at that point. My blood pressure went up again so they then made me lay on my side. What a pain that was to not be able to move around. I had contractions all night. Once they gave me the pitocin at 8 am I really learned what a contraction felt like! A few hours later I was crying for an epidural. Once they gave me an epidural my blood pressure went down and I was able to lay on my back. At one point about 5 nurses came running in asking me if I took off the baby's monitor. I hadn't, so they started ma__saging my stomach and gave me oxygen. I almost freaked out at this point because they sent everyone out of the room except hubby. Anyway, I guess the baby didn't respond well to the increase in pitocin and his heart rate dropped. I ended up having him at 7 pm after 2.5 hours of pushing. I really think the labor was so hard because my body&baby were not ready. I only agreed to being induced because of my blood pressure. I really believe in trusting your doctor. If they tell you to get induced due to medical reasons, I would do it. If given the option for convenience, I would personally wait.

see its not convenience for me, i know my body and i literally just cant support him anymore, i can tell hes too big and it hurts me to do anything other than just sit. if i stand up my stomach starts getting hard and i have a few contractions, if i sit from standing i can feel him move up from the pressure of sitting then settle back down once ive been sitting for a bit. if i lay down i start haveing a few contractions, if im on my side i cant roll over unless i feel like crying bc my pelvic bones feel like theyre being ripped apart. and if he moves it only causes cramps and contractions, so i would say that he needs to come out bc i literally cant take it anymore, unless im just sitting im crying bc of how much it hurts to do anything. they never mentioned anything about there being something they could do to help soften my cervix, which kinda p__ses me off, bc i think if they gave me that then all theses contractions wouldnt be a waste and they would actually be able to dilate me. i think the contractions arent dilating me bc im not soft enough. i also think they didnt do anything bc my normal doctor is on vacation right now and she avoids inductions like the plague. so if all this is at the point where im in labor and i need a c-section bc hes too big im going to be soooooooooooooo p__sed off, 1. bc its longer recovery time that i dont have, i need a job and money asap and 2. medicaid ive been told is a pain in the a__s to get to cover ANY c-section.

I am 39 weeks @ 36 week I went into the hospital having the exact symtoms as you. They said I was in labour and a__sesed me to a room and even gave me an IV. Well through out the night my contractions were't getting stronger. They sent me home saying I was having false labour! All the excitement for nothing. Anyways everyone has a different pregnancy. go to your birthing unit and get checked out to ease your mind.
