Really Soft And Short Cervix

I am almost 38 weeks with my third child. My dr told me today that my cervix is really soft and short, only fingertip dialation. I went from having a soft cervix last week to really soft and short this week, does this mean that I am going to go into labor soon. Or do I still have awhile to go?

You could walk around like that for the next couple of weeks, or you could go in to labor today. Only time will tell.

All I know is that's a good thing!! You want soft and short for sure. Mine was the same way and only 1cm dialated for a while. Can't predict when from that, but the softer the cervix, the better you'll dialate, the smoother your labor!
