I was induced my first 2 pregnancy. I'm now on my 3rd pregnancy 37 weeks and dilated to 3 cm and effaced 85% and have been this way for 4 weeks. I went into preterm labor at 24 weeks and put in the hospital 4 times and on mag, i have been in complete bedrest since 24 weeks, i started to get up 2 weeks ago. and i have been contracting every 5-7 minutes for the last 2 weeks and nothing,i've tryed everything and the baby isn't coming out yet... i'm soooo miserable.... THere's nothing that will work for me...

I have been taking Rasberry Leaf tablets for the past 3 weeks, It has done nothing to start my labour although I have read that it can help towards and easier labour and I'm all for that. I am 37 wks and my baby is very large so the sooner the better for me. Any other tips to get things started?

Tasha is very WRONG and uneducated. If you try natural methods and they don't work, they don't compromise the life of your child. Most if not all things that medical doctors do to make your baby come in to this world before your body and God are ready does cause stress on you and your baby, which puts you in a situation to cause complications. But what do the Doctors care they just make more money from your complications. Having babies was not ment to be a medical emergency, and there is no need for medical interference when there are no natural complications. Overdue is not a complication. It is about the life inside you (and it ia a life at conception) and why would you want to cause stress and complications on this sweet little baby trying to make it in this world. This world needs to stop doing what the doctors brain wash us into thinking are our only options; we do have choices, and we can't be forced into doing anything aginst what we decide is best, and doctors don't know whats best.

I think it is good to avoid being induced if possible, and definately wouldn't consider it until after your due date. My first child was induced because my water broke with no contractions after 12 hours (some doctors will wait for up to 24 hours) once the amniotic sac has torn, there is a possibility for bacteria to be introduced into the baby's environment. Keep in mind that induced contractions are typically more difficult than natural labor, I had 15 hours of them 2-3 min. apart and did not have an epidural (don't think I will go without an epidural again with induced labor). Anyway, do keep in mind that after 41-42 weeks the placenta does not function as optimally as it did previously, I think that is why doctors chose to induce sometimes, it doesn't provide nutrients as efficiently and amniotic fluid production slows down. Just keep in mind that if you aren't ABSOLUTELY sure of your due date, you should not be as eager to be induced. This last month is hard. I am in my 37th week, second pregnancy, and starting to get a little restless (still working, and no sleep at night), but one thing that makes it more difficult is the countdown, so try to live like you are only 7 months and maybe the time will go by faster.
Best Wishes to Everyone!

Find a good reflexologist as they can help induce labour.

Red Raspberry leaf tea helps your uterus during and after birth by strengthening the muscle. It does not promote labor. To help or possibly help labor get started you can drink a small amount of castor oil and orange juice, take frequent hot baths, walk, stretch and relax.

I'm now four days past my due date and beginning to wish there were no such thing as due dates. It was much easier to feel ready at 38 wks than it is to wait two weeks past that magic day. I'm drinking the tea and ma__saging my perinium to get ready for the birth and walking and having s_x just to relax but I really don't think anything we can do at home really works to bring labour on and I don't think we should try too hard. I'm now convinced mine is a determined little Aries just waiting to be born under the right star.
