Hehe- with my first all of those happened to me. Before labor I'd have died at the very thought, during it I didn't care one bit. I barely noticed (except the vomiting) because I had an epidural, so things were just coming out and I couldn't really tell what was going on. It happened in about my 22nd hour of labor, so I was to exhausted to care!!

Yeah, I am worried about this! The hospital I am delivering at requires enemas if you have not had a bowel movement that day and I am terrified of having to have an enema and there is no way in hell I am getting one! So I told DH that I am not leaving for the hospital until I go to the bathroom, no matter what! lol.

i did when i had my son. Although with the pressure of the baby coming i was oblivious to it, no-one mentioned it or made a fuss so dont worry. its something they see everyday. i only found out after when i asked my partner.

Ca__sie, when it's time to have the baby, it feels just like a need to poop, so be careful. It's really not as big a deal as you think. None of the nurses or docs even flinch. It's so normal. What about buying an over the counter enema, and giving it to yourself when at home in very early labor? Whould that work better for you?

I knew I was getting induced so I made sure I pushed something out that morning! I still wound up pushing some out when I was pushing my son out. The doc and nurses acted as if it were nothing but my dh did laugh a little. If your in pain you won't notice it! Good Luck!!

Believe me, it will be the last thing you are thinking of. I worried about it before I gave birth, but during the process of labor it never even crossed my mind. And one thing you need to know is that when you push, you need to feel like you are pushing out a poo. If you let your fear get the best of you, you will hold back and it will take you FOREVER to get the baby out! When it is time to push, just give it all you've got. If a little poo comes out, so be it. I pushed so hard I got my baby out in 15 minutes and my rectum was super sore after. I did not poo. I did however poo about 6 times that day as your body has a way of cleaning itself out before you give birth. You're in a totally different state of mind when you are in hard labor, I'm sure you won't be worrying about this.

This strangley doesn't even bother me. I am more afraid of what the bad contractions will feel like and whether I tear or not. Pooing is the last thing on my mind. lol

I pooed with two of my children and DH didn't tell me until a few days later - totaly mortified then, but during it, there's no way it crosses your mind. When you're pushing like an elephant and sounding like one, you don't care, everything comes out! Vomiting too, so lovely! The body goes through tremendous strain and pressure, don't let your mind get clogged up with things like this, save it for being right there during the moment baby is born, otherwise you can regret missing the experience later. I did with my first because I didn't know what to expect and was SO embarra__sed by everything. Believe me, you snap out of it!

alot of people do, but when it happens you are in so much pain you really don't care! if you are really worried try an enema when you feel labor kicking in, to avoid it happeneing.

Sorry KLT:) If it's any consolation- if it happens to you, you won't care and likely won't even notice. Just tell your partner to lie to you if you ask him about it later:)

I was REALLY constipated, and was advised to take castor oil by my obstetrician, just enough to loosen my bowel movements, not promote labour. When I went into labour, I didnt poop, because there was nothing there to poop (I was all cleaned out from a few bouts of diarhea). Check with your doctor, they might reccomend the same thing.

This happened to me, the staff don't even notice, I wasn't even aware it was going to happen....none of my baby books 8 years ago mentioned it... The staff see that everyday.

it happens to a lot of people. I did when I had my son. I had no idea though b/c i had an epidural and couldn't feel anything down there. My husband told me later. It's not that bad. The drs are used to it..a lot of people do it.

Dont worry about it! As I said above, I was really worried about it. But I had my baby Monday and it was the last thing on my mind. I knew I was being induced so I made sure I used the bathroom Sunday, and then didnt eat very much after that. The hospital did do routine enema's but I refused and it was fine. I only had to push 3 times (and yes lala, it felt just like having to take a poop, just a huge one!! lol) and nothing came out. So dont worry about it!!
