wow mellissa - you must be so incredably comfy wih your husband to let him give you an enema - I had to get my partner to take me to the toliet when i was in hospital with seziours because i didnt want a strange person who didnt no me in there. But i dont think ill let him give me an enema. My flat mates constintly laughing at me saying "Haha Your gunna shoot poo at the doctor!!" I cant say i really want to lol!!

I just had to share this lovely bit of info. :) I had this same fear all nine months of my first pregnancy as I'd heard horror stories. So right after I pushed out my oldest daughter and all was well, I beckoned to my husband and whispered discreetly "Did I poop on the table" and his loud and jovial response was "Nope, but your ***hole turned inside out!" Ahhh memories. ;)

I 'm so glad to know that Im not the only person worrying about this. But I do want to know, do the dr's clean it up right away? It seems so unsanitary to poop right before you have a baby!?! I hope that I luck out and it doesnt happen to me, but with my luck...it will. HAHA

kyes, I just had my baby boy July 21 and I hate to say this but yes I releived myself while in labor. Oh and add on top of that that I threw up not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES!!!! The reason for the throwing up is, as my mid-wife explained it, my body progressing and dialiting. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about throwing up. As for releiving myself, that also is something you cannot control. Because there is so much pressure from the baby coming down, it just happens and honestly you have no clue you are doing because for 1) you are somewhat numb from the epidural so you don't feel anything squeezing out and 2) you are just pushing so hard you are not paying attention to it. It was not untilt he first time my midwife asked a nurse for some more bed pads, that I had known what I had done, and personally I could have cared less at that point in time. It was not because I was in a lot of pain because I wasn't. I had an amazing delivery that was pretty much pain free, it was just the contractions that killed me. I just wanted my baby boy out so I could hold him and kiss him for the first time. So seriously do not worry about throwing up or pooping yourself while delivering. It's all part of the experience and is the last thing you will care about once you have that baby in your arms! Just enjoy the experience because it is the most precious, magical and special moment any woman will experience in her whole entire life time.
