with my 1st,natural labour, the pain meds did'nt take. The gas and air did'nt seem to do much, another they tried did'nt take. The nurses, yea doing a wonderful job,but seemed to be rushing about, and it made my panic a bit,I also felt alone, and the pain was so intense and remembering wondering how labouring mothers can forget that pain,no way was I going to.Labour pain is renound for such pain and I can see why.The section was a different positive story, everything planned, and relaxed as much as you could be.The recovery was actually not as bad as I thought.Ok getting out of bed for the 1st time was a little tricky, but with the pain meds it was managable, and in no way as bad as the natural birth,or the discomfort I felt afterwards.I went home and took my time, which was great, and it was great.I had my husband to help, and glad to take it easy.I can say I loved the section, any birth you are going to get pain, but the section was tolerable and actually enjoyable.

I would probably suggest do a C-sec just to make sure. I have a friend w/ 2 twin boys and they're from c-sec. I think it would be safer.....thats all.

Hi Jenny,
I had natural birth, I absolutly loved it. Make sure you do your exercised and learn TO RELAX is the key. I used many Yoga tech. and it really worked, learning to control your breathing helps as well. I would try to have natural again ! The only thing that was sore afterwards was that my daughter scratched me a little and I had to pour water on myself while I went pee. Other than that, I had no problems. I had one shot of Demoral and that helped me sleep. I didn't scream once ! Just relax !
Best of luck to you !

I'd choose a natural any day,get the pain over and done with. With the c-section the pain lingers. Five months later i still wasn't able to stand next to the kitchen bench, properly hold my baby or move around comfortably.

abby,I have known women with natural births to have suffered afterwards as well.I think it depends on your own situation. You can good and bad in both.I had a cesarean and went in with a positive att_tude,I enjoyed the birth, was wide awake at the moment of birth, and felt the same as my husband, not in pain,or a bit tired from the pushing and labour, but focussed, and we had music playing in the background, not that I remember what it was mind! The recovery for me was not too bad at all, with the pain medications it is tolerable.the nurses are a great help, and lets be fair just after you had a baby you could do with a bit of help.it was a great experience a cesarean birth for me.
