That is the sickest most nasty thing I ever heard. I feel like puking now. Anyone who would eat the placenta is sick, I didn't even want to see mine.

For all the people who say that "It's natural, animals do it"...i have two things to say.
A.)My dog ate sh*t this morning...doesn't make it normal or okay for humans.
B.)I've heard that some animals eat their own young. Not normal for humans. Not natural for humans. Not okay for humans.

I saw a show on Discovery where a lady in the UK ate her placenta. She froze it and served it in a stew at her daughter's 1st b-day.
I would never do that. I won't eat thing other than chicken or beef so I really wouldn't go near placenta.

We ate mine. It was soooo good. It tastes like steak. I recommend that everyone do it. It is very spiritual!

For all of you that are saying that animals eat placentas after their babies are born, you should really check the reasons. It is because they are worried about another animal smelling the blood and coming to eat their young. Now natural child birth is one thing but let's not get too d__ned primative. >_<

I have read that some vegetarians eat placenta because it come from an animal that did not have to die to provide the meat. Also read that it tastes like liver and has helped women with post partem depression. Most commonly they dry it and make capsules to take when they are feeling down or low on energy. You can also buy the capsules but I would much rather use my own if I were going that route. Some cosmetics use placenta as ingredients, so no matter how gross the idea of taking your own home, the thought of applying someone ELSE'S (some products use cows) placenta to my face to fight wrinkles is even more repulsive.

Umm, ok, to all the people that say "Animals eat it, why shouldn't we?", animals eat it for a very specific reason. If they left all this blood and tissue lying there where their new baby was, predators would be sure to pick up the sent and be there in a few minutes. They clean it up to protect themselves and the newborn baby. If you are afraid of a predator coming to eat your baby, then by all means, chomp down that thing as fast as you can, oh, and everything else that comes out too.
