Hi girls, I just wanted to share with you something that I myself never knew but recently learned. Today is day 43 for me since lmp, now, I have tested and retested w/ hpt and all -. I did not know what was going on until recently joining fertility friends and learned that I did not ovulate until day 32. Not that this is the case for some of you ladies here but I had no idea that it could take so long to ovulate. Then it can take 5-7 days from ovulation for the egg to implant. So maybe the egg implanted later than one may have thought and it is just too early to pick it on u/s yet. Hope this helps!

Hello everyone..i am also going through the same situtation..im supposedly 11 wks pregnant went for my 1st u/s on monday and there was an empty sac..i havent had any miscarriage symptoms at all..my doc said im either very early or i will be havin a miscarriage..i went back today 3/29 for my blood results and my hcg levels are at 5-10wks so its given me some hope i go back for another u/s on 4/10 im hoping to see my baby ..my prayers are with you all..good luck

OH by the way Dulce- I was suppose to be 8 weeks on my first u/s, witch turned out to be only 41/2 to 5 weeks, strange, but I seen my baby. and herd a heartbeat. Good luck, and keep us posted to

THANX STACY I WILL KEEP U POSTED.. ALL THESE STORIES HAVE GIVEN ME ALOT OF HOPE..TIL I FOUND THIS SITE I DIDNT KNO THIS WAS HAPPENIN TO OTHER WOMEN AND HAD ACTUALLY GONE ON TO HAVE A HEALTHY PREGNANCY..I HOPE EVERYTHIN GOES WELL FOR EVERYONE

Hey Everyone. I have been reading all of your e-mails and i am hoping to get some insight. I had an ectopic in 2003, docotrs was able to save my tube. I then had a procedure done to see if my tubes were clear, and functioning in 2005. Everything came out to be great. I am now pregnant, i'm guessing i am 4-5 weeks pregnant. The doctor did not detect anyting on the sonogram. I am not spotting just very little cramping, very little cramping. The doctor is thinking another ectopic, but i'm not getting any of those symptoms. Should i wait it out to see if they can detect something, i don't want to loose my baby.

Alyce: i suggest you wait it out 4 or 5 weeks can be very early to see anything..and you said you havent had any symptoms..i think you should wait a few weeks and see what happens...good luck..

Thanks Dulce. I forgot to mention that the doctor said i had a cyst on my ovary and it is common in pregnant woman. That's really where my cramping is coming from. I am really nervous. Do you think it is possible to have naother ectopic if i had my tubes flushed, and checked out??

Alyce- It is possible, but don't give up hope, normally they don't see anything till around 6 weeks, they seen my sac at 7 weeks around, and a baby at 8 weeks, so I agree. unless a u/s shows a tubal, don't do nothing hasty. but look after yourself, if you start hurting really bad again get checked immediatly. Don't mess around. Good luck, and keep us posted.

im hope for some advice here, i found out i was pregnant 2 weeks ago and went to the doctor last monday to confirm , i have iregular periods and thought i was only just four week s but started to get cramping pain on one side on the tuesday so my doctor sent me for a dating scan and to check for eptopic on the wednesday, had both scan and tran scan where they told me they could not detect any sign of pregnancy at all and should come back in 2 weeks, my doctor ordered some blood test for the thursday which came back at 667 then on the sat they came back at 1400 which look promising but instead of waiting for 2 weeks they sent me for anouther scan on the following wednesday one week since first one, at this scan the sonographer picked up 2 what he describe could be empty sacs not 100% sure if they were embryos but said at most i was 4 weeks pregnant and should not come back for 2 weeks, though my doctor then ordered me back in on the friday for a transcan saying that the original scan had dated those " not sure sacs" to be 6 wks and 9 days!! and considering my blood hcg levels had risen they should be able to see everything by now which unfortunetly once again they could not confirm what it was in my womb. there now talking about putting me under and putting a camera inside me to see whats going on and im just scared out my mine, has anyone else been through this i would be gratefull for any advice.

hello,,i'm 7 1/2weeks and have ahd v____al bleeding went to see the Dr and he did pregnancy test for the third time and it was positive, so he sent me for U/S the lady said its probably to early to see anything,i;d likely have to come back for a follow up so she called the Dr and said she didn;t see anything in the sac.so i talked to my Dr and he said the test turned negative and that i'm not pregnant,,,,,what is going on?? has anyone experienced this???

I supposed to be 9 weeks this week, I want this past Friday and my levels were're good dr says 54000, but nothing seen in the sac. Monday went back, now my HCG level is 51000 so it went down, he tells me I will miscarry does anyone know how long it will take to miscarry once your levels are going down????? but the weird thing is that dr said he seems to see something in the sac but I am probably earlier than we may think(dates are wrong) but the HCG level made his decision I am going to Miscarry, this will be my first one I have 2 other children and my pregnancies were Perfect, I just turned 30 maybe is the age?????

Hey I am having the same problem I am 7 weeks and they can see the sac but no baby....I am really scared they told me to come back monday april 24th and get another ultrasound done and if they didnt see the baby they were gonna set me up for a d&c..I am really freaking out.This is my first pregnancy and I was so excited now im scared.

It is so important to me to stress that I came to this website immediately after having heard the news that my pregnancy sac was empty. I had never heard of it before, and found this out only 3 days after taking a home pregnancy test, so I was crushed by the news. I had estimated myself at about 6 weeks pregnant (4 weeks from conception). The doctor immediately spoke of a D&C, but had also said that I should have the hormone levels checked. They did the test, they were 30,000...which was good, but then almost 48 hours later, they were just 39,000, they did not double or even raise that much. They told me that because they were still on the rise, I would continue to have pregnancy symptoms, but expect a miscarriage. They also told me to schedule the D&C as soon as possible. At the time, I could not schedule it within a few days as they had wanted, because I was traveling for work and would not be back for 8 days. The whole time I was traveling, I had cramps and kept waiting for the miscarriage. On the last day of travel, I started to bleed. Not lightly, but not extremely heavily either. That lasted from Friday through Sunday. The doctor's nurse called me on Monday and asked how I was, when I told her I had bled over the weekend, she insisted I come in right away. She told me to be prepared to go right to the hospital for a D&C that DAY!. Of course, I called my husband and had him meet me at the office and we were both beyond miserable. It is such a terrible feeling, waiting for something to end that you wanted so badly. The worst thing for me was waiting for the doctor to come in and give me the "final" ultrasound to make sure the sac was still there and still empty. Well, all I can say is that the sight of the empty sac never left my mind for the two weeks I waited, but when she did the ultrasound, I saw there was something in the sac. I did not know what it was, but I knew it wasn't empty! I also saw a flicker in the middle of the sac and couldn't contain myself any longer and shouted out "Isn't that a heartbeat????" The doctor was amazed and said I was 8 weeks (right on schedule with my original dating) and that everything was normal! She also said that some times in the 5th week, it is too early to see anything, but that they had to prepare me for the worst. Also, they believe the bleeding and cramping is from a large ovarian cyst they found during the ultrasound. The risk of miscarriage is low from here on in, just about 2%, and I was told that not everyone has the hormone levels increase as much as they like, but it doesn't signify any abnormalities (I later spoke to my best friend and she said that with both of her pregnancies, her levels were so low and slow, the doctors refused to believe she was pregnant, BOTH TIMES! They are 16 and 19 now!) Thank God that I had to travel for work or I would have gone for the D&C and never known the miracle of my baby. I know this was a very long post, but I had to thank everyone who writes on here to let them know that they helped me keep some kind of hope, and also to help anyone else who comes to this site out of the blue looking for what I looked for. Don't be pushed into the D&C, wait it out. I had been determined that if I had to have a miscarriage, I would, but I was always against having one done by the doctor. Honestly, God knows what He is doing and if I wasn't a firm believer before, I surely am now! Good luck to all of you!

Hi I just joined this group and read few of the postings. I am 12 weeks pregnant and had my ultrasound on April 24th. They could not see the baby. This whole thing is completely new to me and I am totally devastated. I do not have any symptom of miscarriage. My doctor ordered another blood work to check if the hormone levels are rising. If not, she wants me to book a D&C. I had no nausea or vomiting in this pregnancy and kept thinking this was teh best pregnancy. An empty sac is completely new to me. Is that mean the baby was never there or it died or is there possibility it is going to appear sometime soon? Any suggestions????? LisaI
