Bleeding And Only 6 Weeks

I have been bleeding (lightly not too heavy) for the past 6 weeks I just had an ultrasound done and she told me I was bleeding on the outside along the lining of the uterus I want to know if this is serious and if it poses any health risks to the baby

I've been bleeding as well for the past 3 weeks and I don't know why. I have and u/s on the 31st. I'll ask my dr. What did yours say?
