My hcg levels are not rising like they are supposed to doctor has advised me I have a blighted ovum, but ultrasound shows embryo. Has anyone ever had their hcg levels not double and still go on to have a healthy baby or is a miscarriage the only ending?

I am 6 weeks preg. & going through the same thing (Hcg levels not rising at appropriate rate). A woman I work with told me that when she was pregnant with her 5-year old son, her levels weren't rising appropriately. She was also spotting. She was put on bed rest for a month during the first trimester and was healthy for the rest of her pregnancy. Good luck to you. I know how hard this is.

I went through that with my 5 year old. My level actually dropped at about 6 wks. I am pregnant now and it is happening all over again. This time I am spotting some. I am very worried. But, with my little girl everything went on to be normal. Good Luck.

I WAS 9 WKS PREGNANNT AND THERE WAS NO SACK AND MY LEVELS DROPPED I WAS AVISED I HAD BILIGHTED OVUM I NEVER SPOTTED OR ANYTHIING AND I HAD A D&C I MTH LATER I WAS PREGNANT AGAIN AND EVERYTHING IS FINE SO FAR WE ARE DUE IN 5 WKS..

Thanks for this. I am going through the same thing right now. 8 weeks since last period, hormonal levels rising but not like they should. Had and u/s today and saw a heartbeat but it is low 73 bpm. Have to wait to speak to my doctor tomorrow. The waiting is the worst, I just want to know. I have a 2yr old daughter now and did not experience anything like this in my first pregnancy. Just goes to show that one never really knows.
