I am into my sixth week. I've been spotting and the color is light brown in color. Today i noticed that it is red in color. I had my ultrasound done yesterday and the doctor told me that everything is fine, but he could not explain the spotting and all that we could do is to wait till the 11th week. I did see that discharge is common, but all other posts had reported pink/brown discharge. Since mine is red, iam really worried. If any of you experienced the same, please advise. Is there anything that i could do to arrest the spotting ?

Hi Kris: I'm in my 8th week and i have red color spots too. About 3-5 drops in the mornings.....i spoke to my Gyne and she said tat if it is very negligible and not a continuos flow, i need not worry. She asked me to fix an appnt immediately if the frequency were to increase. I wish the best for ur baby.

I am 6 weeks today and have a Dr. appointment due to bleeding that started last Thursday. It was like a period, no clots, just bleeding and even tapered off like my periods normally do. I did have cramps- but period-like cramps... talk about confusion. I had a positive EPT, it was a faint positive, but positive. I am a normal 28 day cycle for years. This is my 4th child, and I have never had this happen before. Strange... I pray all is well.

Thanks Joanna . That really provides some comfort and a__surance to me. In the meanwhile i spoke to my gynec too and he told me the same thing that your gynec told you. He advised me complete bedrest till the spotting stops but iam still finding 2-3 drops, but nothing like regular periods. right now iam praying to the Lord and hope everything turns out for the good. I wish you the best for you and your baby

Kris, I wish to give you positive news, however, I had a similar situation that ended sadly. On April 13th, I started spotting and the color was light brown. I went in the next day and had an ultrasound...saw the heartbeat, everything looked good, they aged the baby at 6w5d, but DR. couldn't explain why I was bleeding. Friday throughout the day the bleeding was more red in color so I immediately called the DR. they said again as long as it is not heavy etc. it is ok. Anyway, in just a few short hours the bleeding got a little heavier and I started having clotts. To make my story short, I never bled like they told me I would (if I were to miscarry) that entire weekend. It was a weekend of confusion and uncertainty to what was happening. We made several phone calls to the DR. Come Monday, I was scheduled for an appointment and had another ultrasound due to the events over the weekend and discovered I did miscarry. Not to alarm you because every pregnancy is different and I have heard other stories about ladies bleeding and spotting etc. and carrying to full term. Stay positive and let faith take over. My thoughts are with you as I know the uncertainty is painful and worrisome.

Kris - I started bleeding at 6 weeks - red, pink and brown and my last bleed was all brown at 10 weeks. I developed a large 2 inch blood clot but now the clot has halved and the baby is fine and the doctor says everything should proceed normally now. I'm 12 weeks today and had my last scan yesterday. There's nothing much you can do other than take it easy, no s_x, no lifting and restricted travel. Once a hertbeat has been seen on u/s your risk of miscarriage drops a lot (though bleeding does double it but its still low - 10% in week 7 with bleeding). The best thing you can do is to stay positive and not panic which is easier said than done I know. Good luck.

Hi, MY tubes have been tied for twenty years, now and I have been spotting light brown and red blood. It's not a period, my stomach has gotten round shape.I'm thinking that I may be pregnant. Please tell me what's happening with my body, at the age of 49 years.
