Hi, I'm 16/17 weeks pregnant and before I found out I was about get my two bottom wisdom teeth out now that I am fully pregnant they're starting to swell etc.. my dr. does know that I took (seldomly) vicodin during the first trimester but I didn't tell him that I still take half every now and then before I go to sleep bc of my teeth.. it's almost like I'm scared to death to tell him so I was just wondering if anyone around here had taken vic/loratabs while pregnant.. no more then half of one and it's not even everyday...
Now I'm going cold turkey and just dealing with the pain.. I feel so bad that I even took half of one but at night when my teeth are hurting and I can't walk bc of the sciatic nerve then taking half isn't so bad but then I wake up and feel guilty.. someone please help me and tell me your stories... thank you

Pain meds are safe during pregnancy as long as you don't take them on a constant basis. If you take them regularly and are close to your due date, the baby will be addicted to them. Women are given Vicodin all the time during pregnancy, especially for bad headaches. My doctor offered them to me. They also gave me sleeping meds but told me to only take them when I absolutely have to so baby is not addicted when born.

I just found out at 12 weeks and I have been on vicodin for months due to back injury. My doc said the same thing but to cut back to 1-2 pills per day. I have had several u/s and genetics testing and all has been good so far, so don't worry so much
