Too Late For Progesterone Help

I've had 2 mc in the last year. Saw the heartbeat (weak) on the first one at 7w0d, but measured only at 5w6d. By the next appt 2 weeks later, no development and no heartbeat, so had to do a D&C. 2nd mc was a chemical pregnancy. HCG started at only 15 at 14 dpo and progesterone was at 8.9. Both numbers dropped significantly within 2 days and then I started bleeding. I am pregant for the 3rd time (at least for now), and blood tests initially looked good. HCG 57 and progesterone 30 at 12 dpo. HCG increased nicely 1 week later to 2112, and they didn't test progesterone. Yesterday, I went in for my first ultrasound at what should have been 8w1d. Unfortunately, I only measured at 6w6d with a slow heartbeat (approx 100 bpm). This seems like almost the same thing that happened to me the first time (only a couple of weeks later). As of yesterday, my HCG was fine (40,000), but my progesterone had dropped to 16! Is it too late to take suppositories, considering that the fetal heartbeat was week and the embryo is underdeveloped? Please help! My heart is breaking. We are trying for our first baby, and I'm 39 and scared. My sister has had 3 miscarriages (all chromosomal abnormalities) and my mother has had 1, but at least they both have had multiple successful pregnancies, whereas I have not yet.

I am sorry to hear about your losses. I understand what you're going thru having had 3 mc myself. All before 12wks, my DR explained that your body usually miscarries a fetus this early on if there is something not developing right and chances of live birth or surviving are low. I don't want to sound mean or too blunt, I found that knowing this put me at ease a bit. Sometimes women have an antibody that rejects the pregnancy, you may want to ask your DR about more tests. I wish you th best, I know women who try numerous times and then a miracle. Explain to your DR your family mc background, they might be able to find something there. Good luck and God bless you, you're in my prayers. Oh by the way I have a 4yr boy and 1yr girl and preg. again.

Thanks so much for your kind answer. And, yes, it DOES help to know that if I mc early, there was something wrong. Did you do anything differently with your healthy pregnancies after your mc's? I feel like I should be doing something. Guess I am not used to the uncertainty and lack of control (and constant worry) a__sociated with 1st trimester pregnancies--especially with my history.

No I really didn't do anything different, just make sure you take pre-natal vitamins before trying to concieve again, and no-smoking (or second hand), drinking etc. Just like if you were pregnant, for about a couple of cycles. Has your DR given you any answers? I know they won't test me bc I have had succesfull pregnacies in btwn my mc's , although they were complicated with pre-term from the begining. Something else I do to cope talk about you lost babies, I know many women who wonder their gender etc. and giving them names makes them feel like they are part of your family, just not present. I think of mine as having 3 little angels watching over our family. if you wish you can e-mail me, Good luck
