What Is Wrong With My Friends Baby

I found out that my friend's fiance is pregnant...Whether she has gone and routine check-ups, I dont know. She is now 5 months pregnant and Im guessing the doctor did an ultrosound where it was descovered that the baby has no legs and no skin either. Apparently some of the babies organs are not in place because he doesnt have any skin to hold it in place. I was sad to hear this news... Now what I want to know is why this has happened... Me and my other friend believe that maybe she was on drugs or maybe its inherited...But we cant explain why...I dont know what the doctor told her. She doesnt want to have an abortion because of her beliefs...Which I understand but what are the chances for a baby who has no skin?
