A cyst on your ovaries can be cancerous but is not likely in woman before menapause. Most cysts are fluid/blood filled and come and go within the monthly cycle...some grow and need to be drained and removed..all cysts should be checked if they do not dissappear within a few months.

Yes Stephanie, a lot of woman do get cysts on both ovaries...but once again if it continues to be a problem you need to have them checked out...you may have something that is making them come...they can put you on hormones and such to stop that from happening.

Cysts on ovaries are not uncommon during the first three months of pregnancy. Cysts can be cancerous in 5% of cases but in 95% are not. You can get a blood test to tell if its cancerous , which is what they did for me and mine were fine. Apparently your levels of cancerous cells can be higher in pregnancy and that is fine but a hospital should be able to take a view on that.

I was also told you should never have a cyst drained in the first trimester as your baby may well die.
