Monique, I had prolonged bleeding when I had my iud inserted as well, for about 3 weeks! I did feel some discomfort, but not like I was getting stuck by anything. I would call your care provider and ask to be seen to make sure its still in place. There is a greater chance of the iud coming out immediatley after insertion so it is good to have it checked if you're feeling something unusual. Good Luck!

i had my ultrasound done on Aug. 11. Everything is going good the IUD is still in the same place. my doctor said that his main concern is an infection which can get into the blood stream and into the amniotic fluid in which they would have to deliver the baby. I am almost 4 months. I have had some slight spotting but he said that is normal, but if it gets to be like a period then go to the ER. I put it in Gods hands. He does knows what is best even if we disagree. I have another ultrasound on SEP. 8. I will find out what it is. At this point I do not care. I am 25, have a 5 year old son and a 1 year old daughter. I am due Feb 7. My husband is in the military and may go to Iraq in Dec. Hopefully everything will go great.

Hi everyone.. I hope all is well with everyone and you are in my prayers. I understand completly what each and everyone one of you are going through .. The stress is so overwelming I know. Also not to scare you or anything my hcg levels where not right either and they checked me for a tubal pregnancy and it was negative but I did have a miscarriage. I would never tell anyone to get a iud.. I take babies as blessings and wouldnt do anything to prevent me from holding it in my arms but like you all I didnt know the Iud could cause so many problems.. hi all...it is me again.. so i went to my nine week check up on Monday..and i was able to hear the heartbeat :) so far so good... the IUD is supposed to be in my cervix, however my OBGYN couldnt see it.. i have to go back on September 7 for a more detail sonogram.. I do however get those stabbing like pains in my v____a from time to time.. i have been checked by three different doctors, and all found nothing... my ob checked my cervix and it is VERY closed .. nothing is coming out of there.. i dont get this ... the thing is ...today at work...i work in a warehouse...so most the time we are lifting heavy boxes....we'll my bestfriend happens to be the second in comand...so she put me on light duty until we know for sure....well i got kinda busy pulling this huge 1400pc order and some of the boxes i packed were fairly heavy....well at about 10ish i lifted this heavey box to stack it on top of another one...and got a slight pinch in my lower right pelvic area...well that pinch turned in to a sharp pain some time later then i cramped and spotted lightly off and on for about 3hrs and then nothing no cramping no spotting....could i have just over done it....on friday i will be a week late....hmmm i just dont know...has this happend to anyone else.

Hi! I too have Mirena IUD. I have had it since December. I am now very worried I might be pregnant. Besides not having a period I have very tender b___st. I am going to go to the Army clinic first thing tommorow for a test!!

Kristi you should go to the doctor... Do not even hesitate you should go... Jenny welcome to the board and go ahead and go tot the doctor... You shouldn't waste any time.. The sooner you find out whats going on the better.. By the Way My hubby is in the Air Froce we are in SC!

Hi Holly!! My Hubbs is in the Airforce as well!! We are on an Army post for training then its off to Japan. I really hope I am not pregnant!! I cant go to the clinic til this afternoon so we will see.

kristi, that has happen to me. when lifting heavy things you are straining your tummy area too and it could have just pinched or shifted. mine has shifted i think 4 or 5 times and it always went back in less than a day. it was painfull and i was scared out of my mind, went to the hospital a few times. you will be fine and how long have you have your IUD? i have had mine for 4 yrs. and in the first 2 yrs i was scared more than any other time. untill now. now i am looking at a new problem. but i wanted o tell you what happen to you is normal and it wil not be the last time either. it can happen with s_x too. becarfull.

amber-i have had my iud for almost 2 and a half years......never had any problems or scares up until now..

I just want to let you girls know that if enough of you can get together that has become pregnant you can sue the manufactures of this device I am studing law and ethics in the medical field and asked my teacher about this and have done some research on this subject manufactures can be held inditectly responsible for defective medical devices and products through charges of Breach of warranty; statements made by the manufacture about the device or product that are found to be untrue; Strict liability, for cases in which defective products threaten the personal safety of consumers; and Fraud. I fill like the manufactor has made some untrue statements about the IUD because I to have become pregnant and had a misscarrage not to long ago with the copper IUD in. It most certainly do threaten the personal safety of consumers. Just thought some of you would like to know you do have rights.

I have an one year old and an iud, i think i might be pregnant also. I am a couple days late and frequent urination, what are the odds.

Its great to know that we can do something about it.. I was just worried my case wouldn't be strong enough. Plus I have never done anything like that before but any tips would be great.. The odds of getting pregnant are great my doctor told me the iud is 96% effective..If that true why do they put 99% on there product

Well When i went to the doctor to have the IUD put in I asked the doctor about the odds of becomming pregnant because originally I wanted to have my tubes tied but the doctor convinced me that the IUD is just as accurate as tubal ligation. So i went with the doctors advice. I had t he IUD in for about two years before becomming pregnant. I immediately went back to that dokctor who told me that it was not likely for me to become pregnant and told him off and now I am spreading the word about IUDs and at the same time trying to find out what I can do to get them off the market.
