I had a partial mole pregnancy where there was a baby though abnormal and an overgrown placenta. I didn't have any symptoms just thought it was a normal pregnancy until I miscarried at 10 weeks and had a d&c. The hospital sent off the 'remaims' to be a___lysed to see if there was a known reason for the miscarriage and then I found out. I was devastated at first and frightened to hear that I could start to grow tumours and have to have chemo if this happened. I had to have blood tests and a chest xray then weekly urine samples to test for hcg levels which then went to fortnightly and now monthly for a year. My years up in a couple of months and everything has been fine thankfully. You are advised not to get pregnant for a year though, which is hard. There is lots of information about this on the net, but be careful as some can scare you unneccessarily. Hope this helps you.

Thankyou so much for your information. Im having weekly blood tests and my hcg levels are down to 16 from 61. Fingers crossed. I have never been formally told it was a molar, only suspected. Dr wont rest till levels are zero. Good luck when you start trying again.

It does sound like a molar but if your hcg levels are coming down then it sounds like all is well! They will have to remain at zero for several months for your doctor to be happy. Good luck to you I'm sure you'll be fine. You sort of get used to all the tests and checkups, but I will be glad in July when it's all over. By the way, there is no reason why it should happen again with any future pregnancy, chances are a little higher, but I have been rea__sured not to worry. Wishing you well.
